Opuntia a.k.a. prickly pear cactus.

I was in Marina Del Rey visiting a friend. In front of her apartment there was this giant opuntia, that turned into a tree.

Its normal for cactus to begin to bark as they mature. However, I have never seen one this old.

Frick ya nature.

While the temperature is getting colder. Make sure you are getting your plants wrapped when shopping. Anything under 55 will leave damage.

Cold damage will look black and mushy... almost like root rot.

This was gifted to me by a wonderful customer at the shop I work for. It took 8 MONTHS to send out a growth point!!! She had taught me patience, to say the least.

One day I will propagate her and she'll be a big fluffy plant ! 😊

I haven't seen any real slowed growth, except on my guys still battling mites.
