Amodeus was formed in Bergen, Norway in 1991, by Qyasyar ArChant (bass guitar, vocals)and Helmich (guitar, synth).
At the outset, they were influenced by Norwegian thrash metal
outfits such as Equinox, Red Harvest and Paraplegic.
By the autumn of 1992 they were joined by Baard (drums, guitar), and were at that point gradually developing their own sound of pure Norwegian black metal, inspired mainly by Darkthrone’s A Blaze in the Northern Sky,which had been released the same year. They performed for the first time in December 1992, at Verftet in Bergen, a former factory which had been turned into a music venue, also
containing a small studio, where the band recorded their first demo, Garden of Eden in June 1993.

This demo was first recorded in a different version from the one that was released, with darker vocals and including the song “Satanized”, which was later reworked for the second demo. Deciding, finally, on a more piercing sound, parts of the demo was re- recorded, and a new track, “Pools of the Past”, was added.

For the first time, I saw the original first and original press of Asmodeus "Garden of Eden"
the version I have of "Garden of Eden" by Asmodeus, is not the first press, thanks to Helmich for this important info.
Helmich says: "This is the first tape we made of the original Garden of Eden, which included the song «Satanized»."
