🌟 WORK IN PROGRESS 🌟 The Wilson, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

We popped along to The Wilson, Cheltenham's art gallery and museum this week to see the wonderful Work In Progress, a group exhibition featuring the incredible works of , and .🙌

"During the exhibition each artist will be presenting a body of work developed during their year-long residency. Work in Progress reflects the evolution of their individual practices, offering a glimpse into the experimentation and creative processes that have shaped their latest pieces."

The museum entry and the exhibition is free to the public but donations are always gratefully received, Work In Progress can be found in the Sir Charles Irving Community Gallery.

📅 Exhibition runs Saturday 2nd November – Sunday 22nd December 2024 (open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 10am-4pm)

🌟 FIREWORK AND LASER SHOW SPECTACULAR 🌟 Racecourse, Cheltenham.

Today may be Bonfire Night but to avoid the children having a hyped up late night this Saturday Cheltenham Racecourse will once again play host to one of the South West’s most spectacular fireworks displays run by , and this year is set to be even bigger and better with the add on of a laser show and character appearances!

"Drawing crowds of up to 12,000, this event has earned its reputation as one of the biggest and safest fireworks displays in the region. But it’s not just about the pyrotechnics! This year, the fun will begin even earlier, with the addition of special appearances by the much-loved Bluey and Bingo, delighting families with their lively antics. Add in the thrills of Danter’s Funfair and - for the first time - an exhilarating laser show, and it’s shaping up to be a night like no other.

Organised entirely by dedicated Cheltenham Round Table volunteers, every penny raised goes right back into supporting the Cheltenham community. So, not only will you be treated to a spectacular evening, but you’ll also be contributing to a host of fantastic local causes."

🌟 HALLOWEEN WEEK DONE 🌟

How does everything turn into a huge spread out of events and parties now? Not complaining though, we had a great week or so of family fun! 🌟 THE GREAT SCARECROW HUNT🌟 Rococo Gardens, Painswick, Stroud, Gloucestershire.

Need some half term fresh air and fun? We started our inset day yesterday by exploring the grounds at the gorgeous Painswick Rococo Garden and hunting down the fantastic scarecrows, all created by local schools, charities, and businesses. 🎃🕸️👻⚰️

Open daily 10am-5pm until Sun 3rd November, normal admission applies and just £1 extra to take part in the scarecrow hunt...don't forget to pop to the welcome desk before you leave for a tasty little treat to reward your efforts!

🌟 AWFUL AUNTIE 🌟 Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham.

Don't forget that you can catch David Walliams' family comedy adventure Awful Auntie being performed by The Birmingham Stage Company at the gorgeous Everyman Theatre - Cheltenham until Saturday. Be quick as tickets are selling fast!

We went along last night and all really enjoyed the show...some great humour for young and old! Some great props, fabulous puppetry and amazing set changes!

🌟 AWFUL AUNTIE 🌟 Author David Walliams.

Jaxon loves reading David Walliams' books and has been trying to get through Awful Auntie ahead of our trip to Everyman Theatre - Cheltenham to see the production on stage...we can't wait! 🎭.

🌟 EVOLUTION 2024 🌟 Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

What an awesome weekend of fun and adventures we had at Strategy & Evolution this year...our first time attending (Jaxon as a Cub and myself as a Leader) and we are already looking forward to next year!! Assuming I've caught up on some sleep by then mind...nearly 900 kiddos on the site doesn't bode well for a quiet night's sleep for anyone 🙈⛺🥱🤣

Evolution is a two night camp for Cubs AND Brownies with epic challenges, fab entertainment and plenty of food and FUN!!! Scroll the photos for just a tiny snippet!

Does your child go to a Guiding or Scouting group? They give children and young people such wonderful opportunities, experiences and skills. 🙌

🌟 PERFORMING ARTS 🌟 Stagecoach, Gloucester, Gloucestershire.

You may have seen from some of my past posts that Jaxon and Zoey both attend Stagecoach Performing Arts Gloucester and absolutely love it! The staff team are awesome and the children have so much fun whilst gaining confidence and skills in performing arts. Jaxon has just proudly received his 2 year award and Zoey has now done 2 wonderful terms and now on her way to get her 1 year award! They both adore their weekly classes and would spend every single day there if they could!! 💖🎭

Before Christmas we watched both their groups end of term performances and as always, they were AMAZING! Jaxon played two roles in the Main Stages show of Dick Whittington and Zoey had a role in the Early Stages performance of The Christmasaurus. Every single child oozed in confidence and smiled all the way through their scenes, such a gorgeous sight to see and such a credit to the wonderful teachers...lots of very proud parents walking out of the hall that afternoon!! 🥰

Does your child love acting, dancing and singing? There are a few term time places available to start this week, classes run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays - see the Stagecoach website for full details, or message Kate via the Stagecoach Gloucester social media pages with any questions at all (they offer a two week trial to make sure your child enjoys it...I'm pretty confident they will love it!!). 🙌

Stagecoach also run school holiday workshops and next up is Easter School where bookings are already being taken...this is open to anyone - the children do not need to have attended a Stagecoach class before.

🌟 FINAL FESTIVE TRIPS🌟 Winter Glow, Malvern, Worcestershire.

Happy 2024 to you all! If you're looking for some final festive trips this week then do check out Winter Glow at The Three Counties in Malvern.

You have until 6th January to walk through the illuminated light trail, enjoy the fun fair and/or try out the lovely indoor ice rink (yesss the rink is indoors so absolutely perfect during this wet weather!). ⛸️

There is also a bar and a fabulous food quarter with some rather delicious options!

Remember that entry to the grounds is free if you just want to check out what's going on and soak up the last of the festive feels. 💖
