This line of work, all aspects of it, is dangerous. It can be scary. There are highs and lows. Losing a patient is never easy. Losing one of our own can be downright unbearable. This past weekend we did just that.

Officer Jacob Hancher woke up Saturday, put on his uniform and went to work, serving and protecting his community. When he went home at the end of his shift, it was to his heavenly home, not his earthly home. Jacob has spent his entire adult life serving his community as well as traveling abroad with his church to serve communities of people he had never met. Those who knew him would tell you that he always had a smile and a helping hand for anyone who needed it.

We don't take a lot seriously here on the Broken Bones And Microphones podcast, but for just this moment we will. This young man lived in service and died in service. His legacy and his smile will live on in the lives he touched. RIP Jacob, thank you for you service and your sacrifice, we'll take it from here.
