With much pride after a month or two in awe, we present .artist debut album ‘Life? Or Theatre?’.
Comprised of 4-track cassette tape loops, improvised trumpet playing and meditations on what is beyond the music vocab that has surrounded him in recent years, Thomas Armstrong presents to the world his first body of music under his art led ambient guise.
Taking cues from Jon Hassell, William Basinski, Philip Glass & John Lurie, DUNCE treads the line between experimental minimalism and free improvisation.
The recordings themself paint a visceral being wading through a huge atmospheric soundscape via a consistent bedding made up of a limited pallet of instruments., thus making this work evermore intriguing.
The inner workings of guitars crash against cliff faces, synth hits bounce and zoom past at the speed of young eyes taking in new wonder and trumpets holler as if the entry of old gods were imminent, filling the space with earnest call outs and chant like holding of notes.
We hope you enjoy and take heed of the intricacies of this music. We are so proud to be able to know such people and have the privilege to put out something so different aswell as exciting.

With much excitement, we host our first ‘EXCHANGE: A Night Of Musical & Visual Improvisation’ event at TONIGHT 🌺
‘Exchange is a night of improvised music and visuals taking place on Wednesday the 18th of January 2023 at Avalon cafe.
The idea came from a shared desire to explore a less cognitive side of creating music and art, as well as to be able to share that experience with artists that we might not usually play with, opening up new channels of creativity and friendship.
The format of the evening will be 3 sets of fully improvised music and film, prompted by words from the audience. ‘
