My Mother’s Day gift from the girls arrived!

Bell loves taking medicine and wanted to help fill her med boxes tonight.

She get meds 6 times a day to manage her IBD. We typically dose via her food or vegan marshmallows. When I call out “medicine time!” She comes running for her special treats.

She’s such a good helper!

Funny pups:
I always make them lay on their cooling mats after hard play, especially in the summer. If they are really hot, they will lay on the mats without instructing them.

The watermelon that is clearly a favorite of the pups because now Bell has discovered it and she gets there first. Santa clearly does not like the blue one so it was barely on it.
IF I can get Santa on the watermelon mat first, then Bell has no problem laying completely on the blue mat.

If your dogs play hard, then I highly advise that you invest in a good cooling mat. The green mat brand is our favorite.

Watermelon is from Petsmart a few years ago the blue is chillz by green pets.

Despite this girl’s chronic uncontrolled illness, she managed to earn her Dcat in AKC fast cat. She runs on average about 26 1/2 miles an hour.
Way to geaux Bell!!!

Bell gets meds 7 pills over the course of 5 times a day.
This is last pill of the night on empty tummy of at least 2 hours.
She’ll be begging for food until 11:00pm when she gets her bedtime snack.

Baby Bell is not feeling good tonight. She’s staying up with Mom instead of going to bed early with Dad. Her nose has turned bright red too, which is an outward indication she may have an IBD flare tonight.

Bell’s 2 year adoptaversary was the other day. We adopted her at 8 weeks old.

Pupdate on Bell:
IMS said to restart Proun on Tuesday but to cut the pill in half and dose BID so her body can get used to it. Today is day 2 and she seems to be tolerating well.

Her cyclosporon results are in. In January, her results were low showing her body dies not absorb the med properly. It was increased from 100mg Bid to 150mg. Cyclosporin levels increased but her other labs are abnormal.

She wants to take her off of Cyclosporin and start Mycophenalate. I will start the new med on Monday.

Today wascthe 1st truly firm oooo in a long time. It came out in large meatballs. Im slightly concerned with mild dehydration, so I may add water to tomorrows food for hydration.

We discussed a f***l transplant to be done within the next month.

I asked about a food change since weve been having the sweet potato problems. They provided me with samples of the Rayne low fat kangaroooo to try again. When we tried back in May it was a hard NO! But, she was in a really bad flare at the time. She’s a hungry hippo these days so I’m very hopeful.

We restarted Proin for her bedwetting on Tuesday. She vomited Wednesday nightht and tonight. 😞
