As a matter of Eden Prairie Local News (EPLN) policy, journalism standards, legal and ethical, as described by the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists, which presume public spaces (including public online media) are just that - public - are rigorously followed. As such, statements in online public spaces are similar to speeches on the town square. However, EPLN recognizes onli

ne public spaces are unique and evolving and that there is a need to educate the general public regarding the nature of journalism activities relative to online spaces. Therefore, EPLN journalists seek a high certainty of verified online identity, and to reach out to inform participants in these online spaces as to the nature of the journalism involving their online statements. Moreover, wherever possible, EPLN seeks to to ensure participants in online public statements may provide additional context and clarification about their statements and activities online.

PROP - People Reaching Out to People Empty Bowls offers a day filled with food, music, and community engagement, aiming to raise awareness and funds for hunger, housing, and employment insecurity in the Eden Prairie and Chanhassen areas.

Lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by dinner from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This year, PROP is expanding the event with the introduction of the Empty Bowls After Party. Scheduled to take place at Fat Pants Brewing Co. from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., this addition aims to boost engagement and fundraising efforts for the annual event.
