This controversial story, about a lady and her captor, was very popular when it was released on Feb 16, 1983 in Tagalog Klasiks. This is the third and final collaboration between Mang Vic and artist Steve Gan, the previous ones being Mekanizmo (1980) and Sampan Lady (1982). Despite its success, this novel remains unfinished after being pulled by the publisher, a direct consequence of Mang Vic filing and winning a labor case against management.

In remembrance of Mang Vic's life and legacy, we want to share and celebrate some of his works. "Shanghai Joe" was one of his favorite works, beautifully illustrated by Hal Santiago and later completed by Ading Gonzalez. It was first serialized in Tagalog Klasiks starting January 20, 1977, and later adapted into a film in 1978, starring Ray Malonzo and Dante Varona.

Set in the old American West, the story follows Joe, a cowboy whose family is tragically killed by bandits. Taken under the wing of a Kung Fu master from China, he trains to become a formidable fighter. Armed with new skills, Joe sets out on a quest for justice and revenge. Here is the first chapter..

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, Vic J. Poblete. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. It was an honor to have worked with him and to share his stories. His words and legacy will live on. Rest in Peace, Mang Vic.

Today marks the 45th anniversary of "Ang Panday" written by Carlo J Caparas and illustrated by Steve Gan. The first chapter of Ang Panday was released on March 13, 1979 in Pilipino Komiks.

To celebrate this occasion, Pilipino Klasiks is going to release a 45th Anniversary edition, reprinting the first 10 chapters. Restored and enhanced from co-creator Steve Gan's file copies. Stay tuned for more updates!

We have just discovered that there are missing pages in our release of Mekanizmo. We would like to sincerely apologize for this, especially to those who have already purchased the book.

Please see attached to this post, the missing 4 pages (Chapter 30) that should be placed after page 124 (chapter 29) of the book.

Please know that it was never our intention to distribute a work that did not meet the high standards of excellence that our readers expect and deserve. With that being said, we have decided to put all sales of Mekanizmo on HOLD and we have also reached out to our printer to do an immediate REISSUE fixing the error mentioned.
