There come's a point in every child's life that they realize their parents are simply humans. As a child, it's easy to think your parents have everything together and are superheroes. Yet as you grow up, you realize none of us know what we are doing, including parents. We are all trying the best we can. Sometimes parents mess up. Sometimes you have to have difficult conversations with your parents or establish boundaries. For some, if not all of us, we all have some type of childhood trauma that shaped us into who we are today. There come's a point where we have to decide to face our demons in the face or continue to push them away.

In this episode, Madalynne Carratini comes on and shares her story of losing her mom at a young age, going through foster care, and learning how to have a relationship with her father as an adult.

TW: sexual abuse, drugs, death.

Thank you for sharing your story with us 💛

Seeking justice means putting in the work. Say their names, share their stories, but first and foremost, take action. We must help the families of Ahmad Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and the many other Black Americans unjustly murdered by protectors of white supremacy.

TW: sexual trauma, sexual abuse⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
In this week’s episode, I had Katarina Hoskins, host of the podcast, come into the studio and talk about what she’s learned about sexual health from analyzing research on moving past sexual trauma into healthy relationships. She’s currently pursuing her masters and working with Dr. Kristen Mark at the University of Kentucky. I will say that this is a heavy topic and sadly affects more people than it should. In opening up about our experiences and providing resources, I hope that this episode provides insight, or knowledge, or comfort to those that have been victims of abuse. I see you and I wish you to know that you are strong and still worth every ounce of love that this world has to offer.⁣ Warrior Woman's Circle Podcast Wahine Toa
