Thai Real Estate Celebrate Excellence and Build Sustainable Future through Meaningful Design at the Asia Pacific International Property & Hotel Awards 2024-25

Amid the economic recovery of Thailand after the COVID-19 outbreaks, urban development and new construction in the real estate industry are booming. This includes a wide range of projects such as residential houses, condominiums, hotels, and resorts, all designed to meet the diverse needs of various consumer groups, including residents, tourists, business owners, and investors. This surge presents a significant challenge for professionals in architecture, interior design, and real estate development to collaboratively propose, create, and develop projects that precisely address these demands. Additionally, they must preserve uniqueness and stand out in an increasingly competitive market.

Meaningful Architecture and Design for Tomorrow In today's era, architecture and design are not only focused on creating aesthetically pleasing buildings but also on designs that reflect culture, meet functional needs efficiently, and prioritize sustainability. Significant trends gaining considerable attention include health and well-being, as well as environmental considerations. These factors play a crucial role in the development of contemporary real estate projects, prompting brands and organizations to present initiatives that emphasize building a sustainable future. This is achieved through designing residential, hotel, and commercial projects that incorporate these concepts at every stage of creation, from inspiration and design to material selection.

The Asia Pacific International Property & Hotel Awards 2024-25, an event celebrating excellence in architecture, interior design, real estate, and real estate development, welcomed over five hundred (500) guests and industry luminaries. The event recognized over four hundred (400) winning companies from across the Asia Pacific – highlighted 122 awards from Thai firms reflecting outstanding qualities in design, quality, service, innovation, uniqueness, and a commitment to sustainability among Thai industries.

Laguna Lakelands is a project that epitomizes harmonious design with the environment and community. As the largest private residential community in Phuket, it emphasizes nature and supports environmental sustainability. Laguna Lakelands has 5 distinct themed residential areas, Hillside, Orchard, Forest, Lakeside and Lagoon – each with its own distinct character and charm. Moreover, the project focuses on developing "social sustainability" by designing walkways, parks, and community centres for use by surrounding community members, not just residents. This makes Laguna Lakelands a project with a positive and meaningful impact on the local community. Laguna Lakelands: Lakeview Residences has received the Double winner – Residential Development of 20+ Units for Thailand, and Condominium Development for Thailand.

Banyan Group Residences secured the highest number of awards of any developer in Thailand.

"This recognition is a true testament to the hard work and talent of our entire team. Our dedication to innovation, exceptional design, and creating amazing experiences for our customers has led us to become a leader in Thailand's luxury development. The awards solidify our position to keep pushing the boundaries of luxury living in Asia and beyond," said Mr Ho.

Botanica Grande Avenue is a mega mixed-use project combining pool villas, condominiums, and a luxury clubhouse. This project blends natural elements with world-class architecture and high-quality materials to create residences that are both functional and elegantly modern. It redefines the art of living embraced by nature, seamlessly integrating futuristic, tropical, and luxury design tones. "We are committed to delivering quality projects that meet the needs of residents. The recognition of Botanica Grande Avenue by the IPA awards is a testament to the capabilities of our Thai architects and design team, who meet international standards. For the development of the industry and the creation of a sustainable future, we are dedicated to developing excellent projects to bring renown to the Thai real estate industry," said Thatree Pangote - Founder /Design director, RHYME DESIGN GROUP CO., LTD.

These awards are the proof of Thailand's strength in the global real estate and architecture community, showcasing not only the advancement of Thai design and architectural innovation but also the development of meaningful future-oriented real estate projects in all dimensions. With these efforts, we take a significant step toward a more sustainable and harmonious future, setting a benchmark for the entire industry to follow.

CROSSROADS Maldives: Singha Estate Pioneers Environmental Success with
'UN Ocean Decade Regional Project Model' for Sustainable Development

Singha Estate Public Company Limited (SET:S), a leading conglomerate in real estate investment and development, operating both in Thailand and internationally, emphasizes its vision and success philosophy of "Go Beyond Dreams" through its strategic approach "Go Exceed, Go Exist", aimed at sustainable growth across all dimensions: community, society, and environment. Recently, Singha Estate's CROSSROADS Maldives project by S Hotels and Resorts PCL (SET: SHR), an entity under Singha Estate’s umbrella, has underscored its environmental success by being recognized as a pioneering 'sustainable marine resource utilization model " at the 2nd UN Ocean Decade Regional Conference and the 11th WESTPAC International Marine Science Conference, hosted by Thailand's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, and the IOC/WESTPAC.

Mrs. Thitima Rungkwansiriroj, Chief Executive Officer of Singha Estate Public Company Limited (SET: S), highlighted: "The CROSSROADS Maldives project is a globally renowned, all-encompassing tourism destination managed by S Hotels and Resorts PCL (SHR) under Singha Estate. We prioritize maintaining a balance between business expansion and the preservation of nature and the environment in the region. This commitment embodies our core philosophy of 'Go Beyond Dreams' and is a pivotal strategy in sustainability through 'Go Exceed, Go Exist.' It underscores our dedication to 'Nature-Based Solutions,' ensuring the conservation of terrestrial and marine biodiversity and establishing a Key Biodiversity Area. This enhances credibility among stakeholders, including local communities and investors, while attracting eco-conscious customers and tourists. Ultimately, it transforms our environmental and biodiversity focus into significant business opportunities."

Currently, the CROSSROADS Maldives project is actively implementing the SINGHA Marine Conservation Area initiative, which aims to register as an Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measure (OECMs). This initiative, supported by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment & Energy of the Republic of Maldives, covers a water area spanning 3.15 square kilometers, which constitutes 31.56% of the entire CROSSROADS Maldives project area. This marine zone is renowned for its rich biodiversity, including pristine coral reefs and rare marine species like dolphins, rays, and sea turtles. Many of these species are critically endangered according to the IUCN Red List. The conservation efforts focus on preventing, avoiding, mitigating, restoring, and compensating for environmental impacts, ensuring their long-term sustainability and growth in harmony with the environment.

Assist.Prof.Dr.Thon Thamrongnawasawat, Deputy Dean for Special Affairs, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University, stated: The current UN Ocean Decade Regional Conference is a collaboration of global experts, marking a pivotal effort to sustainably preserve the richness of our seas. It highlights Thailand's potential as a central hub and leader in marine science and oceanography in the Western Pacific region. Moreover, it aims to unite marine scientists, stressing the urgency and significance of expanding marine conservation efforts. It seeks to raise collective awareness about the diverse challenges facing our oceans and represents a crucial step forward in advancing marine science education and ensuring the long-term sustainability of marine and ocean resources.

"The importance of private sector collaboration is crucial, particularly in today's world where global expectations are rising rapidly. It goes beyond merely supporting scientific research and conservation efforts; it involves active engagement in genuine marine conservation. This includes fostering scientific knowledge and playing a pivotal role in global exploration, as well as collaborating with communities to ensure the sustainable preservation of local resources for the benefit of all future generations. This cooperative effort aims to achieve a harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature." Assist.Prof.Dr.Thon Thamrongnawasawat added.

The theme of consumer-focus, purposeful intent, and personalization was showcased at a special on-site exhibition by American Standard and GROHE. The audience toured the American Standard exhibit through selections from the Acacia Collection, Signature Collection, spalet and auto temperature mixers in exciting color finishes that complement consumer lifestyles and aspirations.

The GROHE SPA exhibit guided guests through the theme of ‘Health through Water’ with curated collections that explore the options for different materials, customized user settings, colors, and finishes. This enables tremendous creative flexibility, in offerings such as the Rainshower AQUA ceiling shower, to create a transformative multi-sensory showering experience through personalization.

At the event, the Pan Pacific Orchard hotel, Singapore by UOL Group was awarded the inaugural GROHE Luxury Award. This award celebrates 'New Luxury'— a blend of exceptional design and luxurious interiors with values of responsibility, conscious consumption, and sustainability. The Pan Pacific Orchard, Singapore features unique open-air terraces named Forest, Beach, Garden, and Cloud; incorporating sustainable and biophilic design principles, with lush greenery and gardens. Each terrace has its own theme, such as a tropical forest or beach oasis, providing a harmonious environment for guests. It offers a holistic experience that integrates distinguished design and luxury interiors with the values of sustainability.

For more than 20 years, GROHE has been committed to sustainability, with initiatives such as circular products, reduced plastics packaging, and using renewable solar energy for its manufacturing processes. BSD City by Sinar Mas Land was announced as the GROHE Sustainability Award winner. BSD City is a city of the future that is located in Jakarta, built around three main aspects of sustainability; Social, Economy, and Environment. To support the environment, BSD City has organized various green events involving local communities in activities such as energy saving, waste management, and promoting green habits. These efforts extend to city development, resulting in Green Buildings that not only enhance BSD City but also contribute to reducing its overall carbon footprint.

American Standard, backed by almost 150 years of pioneering legacy, continues to be recognized for its purposeful design and innovations across bathroom and kitchen solutions that create homes that consumers will love everyday. The American Standard Innovation Award was presented to the Future Car Park project, Hangzhou by Daniel Statham Studio. The project aims to create harmony between the “Automobile and the City” and features a high-tech automated car parking system, a rooftop park area and events space. Cars are parked, or stacked, in futuristic towers that ‘blossom’ upwards to accommodate roof gardens and entertainment facilities. The roof provides shade and shelter to the ground level plaza in a ‘canopy of trees’ . The porous cladding creates a see-through effect of the automated parking system within the towers, while simultaneously letting light into the building and acting as a natural ventilation system.
