Yoyogi Hachimangu Shrine used to be a lively village 4,500 years ago. This shrine was founded in 1212, during the Kamakura period, and is dedicated to the war god Hachiman. Torii gates and temples built with stones tinted by green and grey give the historic site a peaceful atmosphere. The surroundings are dense with trees, making it hard to believe that it is in the middle of a city.
