Some candid pics together with some friends from school from a few days ago when Hamburg was covered in snow. Only one of us has a lot of experience with snow, for the rest, it was nothing short of ‘child like excitement after seeing snow for the first time’! 😂
I made some informative videos from Hamburg during my time here. Do Subscribe to my YouTube channel (link in Profile Bio)

A snowy Hamburg sometimes takes me back to my work visits (by a ship) to the Hamburg Hafen (Port)
Clearly sunny days are always a charm! No matter the weather, visiting Hamburg has always been special because of the port’s proximity to the most hep areas of the city!

New Year 2024 is here and I can’t help but reflect on the past few months of my life, traveling a bit but mostly being in Hamburg!
Living in the country is a totally different ball game than visiting there as a tourist. I feel lucky to have this chance to experience living in Hamburg, and meeting some incredibly cool people along the way! But, as with every country, city and culture (including my own), there are things that drive a person crazy - German bureaucracy tops that list :D :P
“Keep Calm and Carry On” is the motto for now as I navigate further and try to find my footing in this “not new but totally new” place!
I did manage to make some informative videos from Hamburg. Do Subscribe to my YouTube channel (link in Profile Bio)

Pleasantly surprised by how much fun Copenhagen is each time, even more so during this visit as it was together with Mom!
It was during our Eurotrip, and kind of a random pick for us. Copenhagen wasn’t necessarily a place that had been on my bucket list, but we were looking for a city to explore not so far away from Hamburg where we could find inexpensive tickets, and Copenhagen ended up being the spot!
The city has such a great vibe, and everyone there is so chill and relaxed. There’s also way more to do there than I expected, and we ended up feeling like four days wasn’t enough time. I’d love to come back during the summer, because there are other things open that we weren’t able to visit during our trip, like the Tivoli Gardens and the amusement park in it! But it was a fun trip and Mom enjoyed it a lot! Swipe left to see some of the snaps from our time there!

I ate all the cookies while waiting for the Glühwein!
Christkindlmarkts (Christmas Markets) originated in the late middle ages in Germany with the four-week celebration of Advent. There are literally hundreds of Christmas markets held in cities, towns and villages across Germany. From the end of November up until the end of December, the country is all about sparkling lights, Christmas trees, hot wine (Gluewine), handicrafts and sweet treats!.

Luxembourg City is the vibrant, cultural capital city of the country with an interesting layout!
The city is divided into two sections: the High City (Ville Haute), which is the medieval town center situated on a cliff face, and the Low City (Ville Basse), which is located in the ravine that runs through the city. And while the low city is more peaceful to stroll around, the high city has most of the tourist attractions. Highlights include the Cathedral (Notre-Dame Cathedral), the palace (Palais Grand-Ducal), the Casemates, and the scenic Corniche

The next destination from our epic trip was Amsterdam! Almost everyday during the trip was a 30k+ step day! 😅
This was fun as well! Amsterdam has impressive public transportation and offers travelers bicycles, metros, buses, ferries, and trains to help you get around the city and beyond. Getting around Amsterdam is also very cheap, just a Euro or two per ride, so you have lots of options and everything is so closeby!

I don’t know much about Beer, but now I do know a thing or two about “Das Oktober Fest” - You WILL make new friends, you WILL sing along to songs you don’t know, you WILL spill beer on someone or have beer spilled on you and you WILL have a blast!
Europe boasts a frightening amount of festivals throughout the year. Some celebrate history, some celebrate religion, some celebrate music, and some “Beer”! Throwback to perhaps the craziest Beer Festival I’ve ever been (3rd time...that too while being a non-drinker lol)
The wild pictures sum it up...swipe left to see more! Endless memories and a couple of friends for life!

Walking through the city feels like magic. String lights hang above the cobblestone streets, and the plaza of the Grand-Place is striking. Brussels is a relatively small city, so it’s very possible to see it all in one day!

Inside the World's Largest Ship Engine: Wärtsilä 14RT-flex96C! (3rd and 4th image for size reference)
This is a small view of the large Engine while carrying out the Survey, I am actually INSIDE the Engine. By rule, a person (who snapped this photo) is to Stand-by on the outside monitoring my movements during the entire time while Survey is ongoing. This is for safety reasons (accident, suffocation etc etc various reasons)!
Recording the various bearing clearances, surveying the general surface conditions, moving parts, lubrication oil flow/passages etc are some of the important things for consideration during the survey which is critical and detrimental for the health of the Main Engine. The view here is a small part of the crankshaft, the crankcase - the 3rd and 4th photos are to give a better idea what I'm talking about :D
This Engine is around 93,000 Horse Power!
Most of the people who only heard about this profession might only be aware of the foreign travels & the glamour of the uniform.
Life of a marine engineer in a big cargo ship is always a demanding business. The heat, the noise, the super sticky heavy fuel oil, the steam lines, the rolling & pitching are some of the things not many people get to hear from these engineers who work three to four-story below the water level, almost all the time!
Contrary to what it appears, being a merchant marine engineer isn't only about taking sailing trips around the world, it's more about putting endless hours in the 'other home' called "Engine Room" 😊

Deep introspection post alert with a ‘Vintage’ filter (from my birthday from a couple of weeks ago) :D
Anyone who always does the same things, will only get the same results!
Another year, another feather in the hat. As you grow, there is an automatic expectation that you're getting wiser.  As you grow, it’s expected that everything around you grows with you. The year gone by was perhaps the one where I learnt the most due to the remarkable changes in both my professional and personal life!
Birthdays are a great time to thank the ones who helped you make it, and also to reflect the past to see what adjustments you can do to make it better in the future. Always check to see improvement in every area of your life so that adjustments can be made where needs are!
A big THANK YOU to the ones who have always been by my side - you know who you are :) And also to the ones who I've met on the go, everything happens for a reason :)

Remaining stories from Lübeck ! It’s the kind of city that can be explored in a day, but might also keep you occupied for a weekend or more if you want to dig a bit deeper. And if you are not so keen on historical buildings, no worries! The city is also famous for its Marzipan industry, so you can just fill your belly with sweet delight while exploring this 'hidden gem' not far from Hamburg!
Lubeck, Germany, is like a painting. Its spires rise across the city; its colorful houses dot the landscape; its medieval buildings may just stop you in your tracks. And all this beauty is complemented by divine food, great shopping, and a proud history still visible across the city today. With so much to offer, this northern German city is not to be missed!

Heard of the “Devil’s Stone”? Read on
WHEN THE GOTHIC-STYLE ST MARY’S Church was being built in Lübeck in the mid-13th century, local legend has it that none other than Satan himself stopped by the construction site to see what was afoot. The workers, scared to tell him the truth, told the devil they were building a magnificent wine bar. The devil was so excited to have some more souls come his way, he began to lend a hand with the construction!
As the legend goes, it was only when the basilica was nearly finished that the prince of darkness realized he had been tricked. In his rage, he picked up a large slab to destroy the church, but a quick-thinking laborer promised him that they would build a wine bar in the same neighborhood. This pacified the devil, who dropped the slab right near the church!
The slab still remains at that spot, with markings that are supposedly the claw marks of the devil, and is called the “Devil’s Stone.” To honor the legend, a bronze statue of the devil designed by Rolf Goerler was placed on the slab in 1999. He looks quite pleased with the way things turned out and smiles cheekily at passers-by. The people of Lübeck also kept their word, and built the Ratskeller tavern across the road from the church!

Amsterdam is synonymous with its canals, and one of the best free things to do in the city is get out and get lost among them. The city is centred around the UNESCO-listed Canal Ring, where the three main canals – the Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht – form a horseshoe shape around the 17th-century historic heart of Amsterdam!
One of the most exciting ways to see the city is from the water on a canal cruise. You can save €4 by booking your canal cruise online in advance, which will also mean you’re guaranteed a place and can save on waiting time!

"We Always Meet Twice in Life"
A long time ago I was in France and met with a couple of people who showed me around and took me to some of the hippest clubs there that night! They made my day! We stayed in touch and fast forward a few years, they (along with 3 of their friends - swipe left) came to my city for a 3 month internship and I (finally) got a chance to say "THANKS"! Pics from one of our party nights in India!
I am glad I was home when they visited (and not on a ship or travelling somewhere) It was epic! xD
Next meeting? Maybe Summer in Hamburg 🤘”Man sieht sich immer zweimal im Leben!” (“You always meet twice in life”)

Ice on Water! How time flies! I remember this day like it was yesterday :D I was in Hamburg (on a ship) with a project in the middle of February for a couple of weeks in the hafen harbour area!
Due to an expected cold wave (cold front), the air temperatures dropped well below sub-zero during that period resulting in partial icing/freezing of Elbe river (Elbe is a Freshwater river, not sea water, so it will freeze faster. You can see the ice on the water)
Thanks to the clear skies on most days, my work location transformed into a winter wonderland with "office views" like this! :D No matter the weather, visiting Hamburg has always been special because of the port's proximity to the most hep areas of the city!

On this day, I almost became a MEME myself! "When a Selfie is More Important Than Life"! Thank God I didn't step on the snake (2nd pic) which was less than a step away (can't believe I was so engrossed snapping!). But apart from that, it was a fantastic day filled with many wildlife/nature impressions!
Barking deers, spotted deers, sambars, langurs, Wild Soldier Ants, Mouse deers, elephants and many more...the Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary (located in Kodagu District, Karnataka State, India, within the Western Ghats and about 250 km from Bangalore) is home to many wildlife species. The sanctuary covers an area of about 181 km and derives its name from the highest point of the mountain range, Brahmigiri Peak!

River Rafting has always been fun and I tried it at Dubare! Rafting here is quite easy and doesn’t require any special drill/training, so even beginners can easily do it!
The mesmerizing panoramic views of lush forests and towering hills is a plus! Since this river rafting base is located at the Elephant Camp, so one can also camp out and watch the lives of Elephants. For Rs 600 for 4 hrs, this activity is absolutely worth and should not be skipped!

One of the most scenic, secluded and peaceful experiences EVER!
Crossing the river in a small boat, you'll see the clear water, large smooth stones below and the land ahead framed with thick trees. The elephants can be seen as you come closer to the Camp!
The resort is not connected by road - which makes it even more secluded - you need to go by a boat - so remember to pack and keep all your stuff well organized!
There are many activities on offer but even if you skip them all and just spend time around the water and elephants, it's more than worth it!
Stay tuned for more from India 🇮🇳 ❤️
