Is everyone Threading??!

This is a new platform to rival Twitter. It has been labelled the friendly Twitter as it’s basically just people chatting and making random comments.

It could be compared to chatting in a bar at 10pm…you’ll talk to anyone and everyone is lovely!

We like it but it’s early days and it might take a while for people to find their groove…it’s hard not to copy over content from instagram but what’s the point in that? Just hang out in Instagram if you want images and reels.

Threads is words only, or is supposed to be!

The pressure of creating something begins and then you have ‘writers block’ then it turns into the guilt of not posting and then it feels too long since you last posted…

So not only can social media be an artificial way of sharing your artificial Insta life you can now also create the content using Artificial Intelligence 🤯
Let’s remember to keep it real everyone.
Social media has become an amazing tool but I really hope it doesn’t implode with so much technology that real people are no longer on the other side of the squares. I’ve made lovely friends and great connections via social media over the last few years running my business that I’d hate for all that to disappear.
I can spot a bot a mile away! And so can your customers/potential clients!

Have you considered as a new social media platform? Recently launched and pipped as the next big social platform to be on.

It’s owned by the creators of TikTok so it’s predicted to be a big competitor to Instagram.

It has a look and feel of both instagram and Pinterest mixed into one. I like the look of it so will be trying out with .up

It’s growing slowly with a few categories, beauty, fashion, food, travel and pets being the main categories. I’m sure there will be more to come.

This is a good platform for service businesses as it’s basically online networking, it can be the forgotten platform to product businesses but it can prove useful when people what to know the background of your business…as I’ve mentioned before everyone loves to know the behind the scenes and story behind a brand. This gives your brand credibility and it’s a sure way to ‘social proof’ your business.

Links in bio must lead your potential clients and customers to the correct place. Otherwise you risk causing frustration and confusion and ultimately they go away without purchasing or browsing your blog, website etc.

I’m a huge fan of Linktree] because you are not restricted to taking your audience to one link.
Add a free Linktree] link to your instagram bio and then you can direct people to reviews, shop, blog, sale and your other social channels. You can edit it to have your logo and branding colours.

Remember links to websites or email addresses do not work in the comments or blurb of an Instagram post or reel. Instagram want you to stay scrolling on their platform.

Does your website have a blog?
I would suggest you add one if not!

It’s a great way to add SEO to your website and it helps google to see what your business is all about…google is very nosey and the bots crawl your website looking for new and unique content that it can use to help rank your website.
I would say a blog post every month is a great start. What 12 topics would you have in your blog?

If you already have a blog I would recommend adding Pinterest as one of your social accounts.

Users on Pinterest love to read about top tips, tutorials and lists.
Pinterest posts can link to your website blog. More info on Pinterest a different day!

Setting up and running your Pinterest account is one of the services I offer.

I can also create blog posts that will be google friendly and of interest to your followers.

Twitter…you can now buy the blue tick (along with gold and grey)

Facebook is great for joining groups that discuss topics that are in your niche…where your followers hangout.

There are groups for everything you can imagine, hobbies, selling, mummy communities, business, wellbeing and many many more.

It really highlights word of mouth and recommendations.
People will try things that friends or even strangers suggest.

Every business has a story behind why it was started. It’s this that intrigues people and makes customers loyal…along with many other factors such as price, quality, branding, customer service etc. But to get recommendations it’s important to be open with your story so people can relate.

Here’s my story!
I’m a mummy to 2 boys, now at primary school. I started my main business .up 5 years ago when my youngest was born and taught myself how to grow and develop a brand using social media. (Along with the help of some amazing people along the way).
I still run the social accounts on .up as I love doing it!

Before becoming a mummy I worked in fashion buying and wholesale (including the early years of e-commerce). I travelled the world sourcing factories, working with high street retailers and loving it but sadly the industry doesn’t mix easily with having a family life.

I see so many other small businesses struggling on socials and I know with some tweaks, advice and best practices their social media can shine. It can be an amazing addition to your business.

So here I am, after a strange few years of lockdowns, having stage 3 breast cancer and running my own successful baby clothing brand I am back to full speed. Are you ready to jump on the train with me?!

It’s important to remember that social media is about being social. This might sound obvious but lots of companies forget this. A quick image and caption on instagram is not going to grow your account organically. You need interaction with others in your niche and ideal audience to grow…I can do this for you!
