Rest in peace Ken.

I have been a fan of Ken Block for over two decades now. I’ll never forget watching the DC labs videos and being glued to them, watching them over and over on loop. He truly changed what motor sports could be and his legacy will be ever lasting.

In November of 2022 (a little more than month before his death) the Hoonigan crew headed to Mexico City to shoot what would be his last epic video. That video just dropped today, link in comments.

The metro fuel tank was an absolutely disaster inside when I went to change the fuel pump…. Last thing I want to do is have to drop this tank again so I’m cleaning it out the proper way… for those of you freaking out don’t worry the acid step is next.

I finally got time to grab some starter fluid and double check to make sure it is the fuel pump.

It’s the fuel pump! (or some part of the fuel system). Can’t hear the pump prime so I’m going with that and bought a new one. I’ll swap it out in the morning and report back.

Two fallen soldiers in one day 🤦‍♂️ This is turning into a real s**t day. The universe saw I had four cars running and driving at the same time and said…. “Ah nah we can’t have that”

The daily/backup gambler #3 decided to fry a wheel bearing or something in the front passenger corner on the way home.

Highly doubtful I’ll be making it to the Gambler in New Mexico now. Hoping that something is reliable enough to go to okie the next weekend.

Update: Not a gas problem. Not exactly sure what’s going on and don’t know where to start. I drove it 5 miles last night with no problem. Cranked it up this morning and about a mile away from the house it just died. Acted like it had no battery power but a couple minutes later cranked and started but immediately died. Now it cranks and won’t start at all. I’m at a loss and if this isn’t an easy diagnosis and fix I’m not sure what I’m gonna do.

Well… not exactly how l imagined the first real drive going…. Hopefully it’s just out of gas and nothing serious. Gas gauge shows 1/4 tank but I doubt that’s accurate.

First 2 coats down. Guess I’m gonna have to go back, retape the body and spray the trim again. They aren’t kidding when they say “easy release” on the painters tape…. A gentle breeze blew off almost all of it 😡
