So anybody that knows me knows how much I obsess over wildlife! And what better place to experience it than Jim Corbett?
This is from Bijrani, an entirely different zone in Corbett and different from the experience Im going to talk about 🌸
The last time I travelled to this place was in February 2020. I still remember walking in Udaipur markets and while shopping I was actually thinking of Dhikala. Apparently Dhikala zone opens up only for 4 months and you have to prebook it probably months back until and unless you want to stay outside the zone and just take safaris inside. Me being me, I’d give up all my comfort for a wildlife experience! For some reason I just couldn’t hold in my Corbett craving despite being in the middle of a trip itself and I immediately called the guy I always get in touch with to make the booking for me since it’s the best to book your stay through a government portal to avoid extra costing that the agents put on you.
Well, by a lot of luck I assume within 20 minutes I was on the guest list for 15th-17th February (about 45 days later from the day of booking) and honestly I remember passing every day till 15th Feb with a whole lot of struggle coming from my impatient and hyper nature.
But it was worth it 💫
And oh, Bijrani is a beauty too apart from the fact that Dhikala happens to be one of the most dangerous zones in India and you can’t experience it elsewhere - precisely why it’s only open for 4 months yet does a business that other zones probably do in a year! Shucks, I feel like I’m being partial, hm.
Do you want story bites & pictures of my stay at Dhikala ? 🤩
