Southern United FC news, former midfielder and great guy, Tony Whitehead, has signed for Bury AFC, the club formed by a Bury FC fans consortium after that clubs 2019 expulsion from the EFL. He joins other former Southern Utd star, Liam MacDevitt, at the club. Liam was really helpful and supportive of my early attempts to get Moffside off the ground, another truly decent lad.
The pair will be playing in the North West Counties League Div 1.

Quality guest this week, who has featured in the OFC Champions League this past season for Lupe o le Soaga from Samoa, as well as having had the role of GK coach for Southern United and stints between the sticks for any SPL side you care to mention (outside of Southland and Central). All this and he has coached a vast array of junior, youth and senior sides throughout the grades.
We'll be going "InZane in the membrane" 🤪and enjoying things in the sin bin with Zane Green.

Still all to play for in the ISPS Handa New Zealand Football Premier League ("Craziest league in the world" TM Danny Ledwith 2020) as Eastern Suburbs AFC nudge 3 points ahead of the teams singing the "Stuck on 19 points frustration blues" TM Stuart Moffatt 2020.
Suburbs have Auckland City Football Club next weekend while Southern United FC are home against Team Wellington, both contenders capable of picking up points against two teams who have more or less booked their berths in the play offs. Tasman United, Hamilton Wanderers FC - Blue Army will both also be pushing for that fourth spot and play each other next week.
Keep an eye on Wellington Phoenix Football Academy who are mounting a credible late surge on the outside and could be the dark horses in the pack....

What a show, we had on last nights Moffside on OAR FM Dunedin - Community Access Media. Southern United FC striker Garbhan Coughlan went missing (literally) for the first half only to arrive late and scratch a win before Geoff the sound man had to throw the switch and let Misadvenures in Sound on the air.
Stu and Ledz manage keep the first half of the show together without their guest with some quality analysis of the Hawke's Bay United FC match from Ledz and Stu's new guitar offering called "stuck on 19 points frustration blues". New sponsor Tom Fitall has paid for a weekly results readout of the local winter leagues and Stu tries this segment out with a results read out of the Scottish Highland League (Youth) from last Monday.

Ok there are 3 games in hand in there as well - but games in hand are not the same as points on the table. Could do with Team Wellington taking points off Eastern Suburbs today. Another bye week next weekend, but then Team Wellington (Home), Auckland City (Away) and Wellington Phoenix Reserves (Home).
