The Cizeta-Moroder V16T
Developed by Claudio Zampolli and financed by composer Giorgio Moroder, was the first production car with a V16 engine since World War II. This supercar combined two Lamborghini V8s to create a transverse-mounted 6.0-liter V16, producing 540 horsepower. Designed by Marcello Gandini, its body was inspired by the Lamborghini Diablo but featured unique elements like four pop-up headlights.
Only ten units were ever made, including one prototype kept by Moroder. The car failed to meet U.S. regulations, limiting its sales. Production was slow, with only a handful completed between 1991 and 1995. In 2003, a special convertible version was built for a Japanese customer. The prototype was auctioned in 2022 for $1.36 million.
