THANK YOU HIS LORDSHIP MOST REV DR JOHN EBEBE AYAH THE CATHOLIC BISHOP OF UYO DIOCESE, FOR STANDING UP FOR THE COMMON MAN IN YOUR HOME STATE .
The National Leader of IGBO BU OFU PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION Arch Uganeme Emeka Johndon commends the Bishop of UYO Diocese Most Rev Dr John Ebebe Ayah for his sincerity,ability and courage to speak truth to power as regards to what transpired between him and the cross Rivers state governor Prof Ben Ayade few days ago. Its on record that his Lordship refused to accept a donation of 25Million by the governor and rather asked him to add some more funds to it to pay salaries to civil servants in the State. De Uganeme maintained that for our society to get better,that the church Leaders,which includes Bishops, Daddy GOs,Mummy,Go's,Pastors and Priests, Community leaders like Igwe and Eze's , President Generals, social groups and opinion moulders must be ready to speak truth to power at all times.
He opined that these leaders have a large influence on our political class if only they will stand up and fight for the masses. He admonished that they should borrow a leaf from the Bishop of UYO Catholic Diocese to defend the people from the hands of bad leaders, politicians and not join the bandwagon of praise singing just because of one interest or the other .
Arch Uganeme Emeka concluded by saying that the wonderful act of the Bishop John Ebebe Ayah is not trending just because our people are not yet serious and are really the architect of their own problem.
He however prayed that other leaders and emerging leaders should emulate such great attribute of honesty if we really want to change this country for good.
