Governor JC Rahman Nava, MD has formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement for the Deed of Usufruct in line with the development of Buenavista District Hospital together with Vice Governor John Edward Gando and Buenavista Mayor Samuel T. Gumarin.

The allocated budget of the project is for the construction of a Level One Hospital.
" Pa agi sini madugangang ang mga development sa banwa sang Buenavista labi na gid sa Emergency Hospital. In response with this initiative, nag allocate ang Provincial Government sang Outpatient care for this year. " Governor Nava said.
He also mentioned that this project will foster responsive healthcare in relation to his Kabataan FIRST Development Agenda.

Governor JC Rahman Nava, MD met with PA Energy General Manager Marcelo Cacho on the proposed construction of a 100 megawatt wind turbine in Baranggay Millan, Tanglad, and Ayangan, Sibunag.
" I hope this project will manifest in providing direct supply to GUIMELCO in order to sustain the needs of Guimaras." Governor Nava said.
Roger Caminian the Operation Head of Freya Renewable Incorporation also attended the meeting.

Governor JC Rahman A..Nava, MD attended the project design update meeting for the Panay-Guimaras-Negros Island Bridges Project Meeting last January 25,2023 along with Buenavista Mayor Samuel T. Gumarin, San Lorenzo SB Member Jimmy Gajo, consultants from Yooshin and Dasan of the Korean group and represntatives from DPWH Region VI and DPWH Guimaras.

The bridge will have a total span and length of 13.004 KM connecting Panay and Guimaras for.section A and 19.470 KM connecting Guimaras and Negros for Section B. The design period will take 30 months from December 21,2023 to June 21, 2026.

Also discussed during meeting are the possible obstacles that might interfere during the construction. One of the matters pointed is the submerged electric line connecting to Guimelco.

"There will be more economic potential in Guimaras. We hope we can be of a complement for the two islands with this project" Governor Nava said.

Operations of all sea vessels plying the Guimaras-Iloilo route, vice versa, will be temporarily suspended from 12:00 noon until 4 p.m. of January 26, 2024.

This is due to the fluvial parade in celebration of Dinagyang Festival.

Operation of all sea vessels will resume after the fluvial parade.

Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD assisted the awarding of plaques for the three fully compliant LGU's in the Province of Guimaras of the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management System.

The towns of Buenavista, Nueva Valencia and Sibunag were among the 56 LGU awardees across the country during the 23rd Gawad KALASAG Seal for Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils and Offices Category CY 2023.

Present during the hand-over of the plaques were RDRRMC VI- Director Raul E. Fernandez and PDRRM Officer Teresita G. Siason.

Mayor Samuel Gumarin of Buenavista, Mayor Paul Vincent Dela Cruz of Nueva Valencia and Mayor Anabelle Samaniego of Sibunag personally received the awards.

" As we continue our efforts to realize for the progress of the Province. We would like to express our gratitude to every Municipality's initiative. In the same way, we can go beyond compliant that we can achieve for the next year as we go through every disasters." Governor Nava said during his message.
Gawad Kalasag was established in year 1998 with a theme: "Building Resilience through Excellence."

Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD and Representative Ma. Lucille Nava crowned Axyl Rose Gadian the 2024 Lin-ay sang Buenavista with Vice Governor John Edward Gando and Mayor Samuel Gumarin assisting them.

Gene Ann May Suansing was first runner up while Michelle Igpuara made it as second runner up.
The governor in his message highlighted that the budget has been allocated for the construction of the out patient care of the Buenavista Emergency Hospital.

Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD and Representative Ma. Lucille Nava, MD graced the Congresswoman's Night and Governor's Night of the Palayag Festival in Buenavista.

The governor and congresswoman were joined by Mayor Samuel Gumarin, Vice Mayor Cyril Beltran, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Members, and the 36 presidents of IWAG Chapters in each barangay in Buenavista.

Ernalyn Maluto was crowned Mutya sang IWAG 2024 and seven competing groups joined the IWAG Dance Showdown.

" Very proud gid kami sa kababaihan nga kung sa diin biskan ano nga initiave, bskan ano nga affair sa aton banwa ukon probinsya nd gid madula ang partisipasyon sang aton kababaihan. Dira mo makita kung ano subong ka empowered ang aton kababaihan sa probinsya sang Guimaras", Representative Nava said during her messsage.
Five kilograms of rice were given to the lucky individuals who were picked during the raffle draw.

The governor asked for GPPO's cooperation in maintaining the peace and order for the upcoming Manggahan Festival 2024.

Col. Santos highlighted her concerns on the vehicular accidents involving minors. She suggested that those who figure in such incidents be subjected to seminars on road safety.

Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD met with the Department of Public Works and Highway Guimaras and Provincial Engineering Office personnel along with Provincial Administrator Emmanuel Galila.
Among the important matters discussed include the presentation of visual aids for the construction of provincial and national roads in the province, concerns during the construction which include barriers especially in accident prone areas and the budget for road widening in areas of construction including the right of ways.

The identified project areas were San Miguel, Sebaste, Cabano, and other parts of San Lorenzo.

De Leon is set to compete in the national level this year. The governor assured her of the support of the province.
