I got some young (fellas) that'll bend your fu***ng brains in."

Walking into a gym some time ago to reignite my passion in Muay Thai, I did not think I would find myself in any kind of leadership role in it whatsoever. Admittedly, I walked back in to find a less painful way than skateboarding to feed my demons and battle my addiction. It was through happenstance that I went from secretly training to fight to openly working with younger dudes who needed a violent and willing sparring partner and striking coach to help them face their own enemies on the big stage. It has so far been quite the fu***ng honor.

Keegan had an ufortunate loss byt TKO and in that is just how it rolls at times. He still dominated the fight and I stand by the fact that his opponent got lucky landing the kick he landed. Still doesn’t take away from the sting that a loss like that offers. Kid is still goddamn gorilla.

Shayne literally got knocked the f**k out by a third round head kick and battled through a black out to beat his opponent by split decision in points. The crowd booed because beer bellied and opinionated asshats do that s**t, but their boy lost by the reality that he was held down and beaten in each round.

Good work boys and let’s get back to relearning that we have legs and arms we can use for blunt force trauma and not just grappling and squeezing.

Back in 2015 my time at the freelancing table hit the big time when I landed a gig with Supra Footwear. Of course I didn't realize I was being hired during a corporate turnover, but like the delicious pastry, the short and sweet 6 months working there was worth it.

I started off as a freelance designer and managed to workhorse my way into being production manager of the marketing design department. Not bad for a young spud living out of his car, surfing just to get some semblance of a bath and bouncing from s**t job to s**t job and penny pinching food stamps just to keep the dog fed.

I got to assist in quite a lot in that time including the creation of graphic packages for a collection of different shoe releases. Of course being the bonehead I am, I took the Steve Aoki collab samples and put my dog in them because why not right?

Anyway, biggest thanks goes to Ivan Salazar C aka ARMA-BLANCA for the fair shake and the friend I made in Christian Senrud whose comedy you should probably check out too.

This experience opened the "floodgates" for me as far as my professional career is concerned. I had worked with other companies, but this was the one that helped turn the corner from desperation hustle to a pretty consistent pace.

Thanks for stopping by my varsity days scrapbook and have a great day out there. Don't forget to put these rectangles down and suck back on some life too, but like this post before you do that. It validates me. Probably not as much as a $14/month blue check subscription, but more like a false sense of support and belonging to the world.

If you think he is saying "Sláinte" in a thick Irish accent. You would be right because is from Ireland! So what better way to say happy than with the image of an Irishman holding a beer.

On this day 5 years ago I had the pleasure to work with Coalition Brewing on their release of the world's first ever bottled and distributed Beer name Two Flowers that would then be sold in all of the Portland locations.

This was actually the last time I worked with a beer company before I transitioned over to focusing solely on cannabis and I credit Coalition for that transition because we would host a 4/20 block party where I met MANY people involved in the legal market. Those folks would see me at the events, they would see my design work on all the signage, menus, printouts and informational handouts as well as all of my photography that would get put out through social channels.

It was this company that got my work featured in such publications as , , and more. Given it was their beer, but it was a start! So thank you to Coalition for all of that and sorry that the FDA made the dips**t move to shut down all of the things you were doing to combine two plants into one concoction.

NOW: In an adapted quote from the late Coco Chanel, "The best color in the whole world is the one that looks güd on you." In the case of that color was predominantly green with some fluorescent purples and blues mixed in. I had the pleasure of running the social media and creating content for this brand a couple years back, and I made it my number one priority to bring som**hing more personal to the cannabis circle of brands. Som**hing more than the usual obsession of THC levels combined with passe cultural lingo and easy layup of “butts and blunts”. Also that would be rather weird when you consider what I say next.

With I wanted to show the entire culture of the woman owned and woman operated cannabis farm. The hard work, long hours, and round the clock dedication it takes to cultivate a plant once scheduled in the legal system alongside the likes of crack or m**h. Everything from soil transfers and large harvests to reviewing scents and observing finite hairs on buds, this craft is one that requires earned skills that can only be achieved through time.

Walking around being a “fly on the leaf” (bam dad pun) I was able to observe the tranquil and positive environments that Jessica had managed to build. It was an honor to work for them and highlight a different perspective of the farm-lifestyle. A business that focused so meticulously on their practice that it became one of the very few certified organic farms in their category.

You would walk by this guy's shop door in SE Portland and NEVER know there was a motorcycle playground just a few steps underground. The parties were always eventful and the work times were even more interesting. I feel honored to have met this guy through as I gained another brother for life through our connection.
