Naval, Biliran — Too much drinking proved to be fatal to a Canadian national after was found lifeless about 5:40 in the morning today, July 3, at the port of Zone II, Brgy. Sto. Niño, of this capital town of the Province of Biliran.

Police identified the victim as William Ronald Haynes, 62, with live-in partner, Canadian Citizen, presently residing at Benjamin Hotel, 2nd Floor WAD Mall Building, Brgy Smo. Rosario, Naval, Biliran, with Passport No. HD071405 with expiration date March 31, 2025.

Naval police said that at about 6:10 in the morning today, Hon. Jacqulene Escala, of legal age, married, Brgy Chairman of Brgy Sto. Niño, Naval, Biliran personally appeared at the station and reported that the victim was allegedly found lying in a prone position and seemed to be lifeless on top of the concrete barrier at the seaside of their barangay. Responding personnel were immediately dispatched to check the veracity of the report and upon arrival in the area found the victim lying in a prone position motionless with his upper body on top of the concrete seawall barrier and while his lower extremities were on the ground, unresponsive, seemed to be lifeless and with a bottle of liquor. The responding officers immediately cordoned the area and immediately contacted the duty physician of Naval Rural Health Unit (RHU) for examination.

Cabucgayan, Biliran— A 7-yr old Grade 1 pupil succumbed to death after he was reportedly bitten by a poisonous snake while on his way home at about 10:00 o’clock in the evening last night, Thursday (Jan 27), in Brgy. Magbangon, Cabucgayan, Biliran.

Cabucgayan COP Police Lt. Teofilo Gervacio III identified the victim as Jhon Mark Mollejon, 7, a Grade I pupil at the Cabucgayan Elementary School and a resident of Brgy. Magbangon, Cabucgayan, Biliran.

The local police said that they received information at noon today that a boy had died from a snake bite in Brgy. Magbangon, prompting them to immediately responded to verify the report. Upon arrival in the barangay, they noticed many people outside one of the houses and inside a woman was crying who turned out to be the mother of the victim.
