“What does entrepreneurship look like?”
I feel like this is such a common question. Many people wonder what the life of a entrepreneur actually looks like. Does it mean going to a bunch of events? Does it mean working 24/7 instead of 9 to 5? Does it mean you have a ton of free time and you’re making money on the side. Does it mean you work 9 to 5 just like everyone else?
Entrepreneurship is this: Essentially, entrepreneurship is the process of developing, organizing, and running a new business to generate profit while taking on financial risk.
Now this is the general definition, but entrepreneurship can mean many things to many different people, and the way they get their can look diverse, unique and one-of-a-kind.
Now there are basic but important things in entrepreneurship that almost everyone should do.
Like get a business license, have a separate account for business transactions and have some sort of mission behind why you’re doing what you’re doing, and offering a good service or product.
But besides the essentials, the how can look completely different!
That’s why you see entrepreneurs that work their business 9 to 5, or they incorporate events into their day to day, or they function better at night so it does look like they’re working 24/7, or they are working 24/7. (which I don’t recommend but you do you)
The point I’m trying to make is entrepreneurship is what you make it. It’s a messy, fun, wild, interesting, exciting and life-giving experience as long as you let it.
There are seasons for it, there are lifetimes for it, there are wins, there are downfalls, but it’s a journey that you not only get to go on with business but with yourself. Entrepreneurship has grown me as a person and though things have not always gone my way, I have learned so much about the kind of woman I want to become because of taking a risk and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
If it’s not entrepreneurship, think about how you can step outside of your comfort zone in other areas and take a risk to help grow yourself into the person you want to be.
To get what you’ve never had you have to do what you’ve never done. Change.
