Well, what a day! ๐ฎโ๐จ
Today we were full of hope, nerves and determination.
For over 9 days a very worried owner had been looking for her dog, Lotty. Unfortunately Lotty had ran off and could not be found.
You may have seen all the shared posts on social media, posters hung everywhere in and around Cawsand/Kingsand with all the information in the hope that Lotty would be found!
Today, we kept an eye on the weather and the first chance we got we went on the search for Lotty.
Going over from Saltash to Cawsand there was an awful lot of sea mist and we were worried we wouldnโt be able to launch one of our drones. Luckily, as we drove down towards the beaches the sky was clear.
After 90 minutes of searching and very quickly running out of our final fully charged battery we looked in the thick shrubs by where Lotty was last seen and with only 3 minutes left of flight time we spotted her. We took an image of Lotty and sent it to her owner and in no time at all she had made it over to rescue Lotty.
Unfortunately there was very little access on foot to get to her so all the wonderful people that had walked in search of Lotty would not have been able to see her.
We had some help from a wonderful local couple in retrieving Lotty from the thick shrubs she was stuck in, they brought some tools to deal with the shrubs, the ranger made it over, some walkers stopped to see if they could help and it was a just a case of trying to reach Lotty and coax her out!
Luckily, Lotty although very nervous made it out safe and relatively well and into the arms of her owner.
It has been a very emotional, hot, tiring and great day and weโre just so happy that we were able to help reunite a lovely pooch with her family!
