The past few days I’ve watched events unfold which I feel so helpless in doing something about, even though it is something I feel so strongly against. George Floyd was brutally murdered by American police and that was because of the colour of his skin. ⁣
⁣
But we are not helpless, wherever we are or whatever colour our skin we have certain responsibilities to help towards change ⁣
⁣
EDUCATE yourself from non bias news sources ⁣
FOLLOW accounts which speak with truth and from experience ⁣
SPEAK up against any racism you come across ⁣
SIGN petitions which are advocating for a change for black lives or donate towards causes where possible ⁣
⁣
My heart breaks for George Floyd’s family and every other family who has lost a loved one due to a racist and broken system. I really do hope one day we live in a world where the colour of our skin does not matter as I simply cannot understand why it ever would. ⁣
