Please donate your unwanted clothes to nursing homes before you donate to goodwill. Some folks don’t have family members who provide clothing and they dont have money or physical abilities to buy their own clothing. It’s so sad helping dress people in the same 3 outfits that have rips and holes, missing buttons in them. send them to some one who could use them and not have to wear the same things over and over until they are worn. COPY AND PASTE. KEEP IT GOING❣️🤲🏻☺️

Homemade cornbread recipe

1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 cup of finely ground cornmeal
1 TABLESPOON of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of Kosher salt
1 tablespoon of baking powder
2 eggs
1 1/2 sticks of melted butter
Enough buttermilk until it looks like pancake batter

Preheat the oven to 350. Dump all these ingredients into a bowl.

Mix it well. Pour it into a cast iron skillet.

Put the skillet in the oven and bake the cornbread until it's golden brown. This should take about 22 minutes. After about 15, check it.
Also, do this a day before you actually make the dressing. The staler, the better!

For anyone who likes Eggplant over the holidays, you can make them now.

Here’s how:

Fry the slices then layer them on a cookie sheet between wax paper. Wrap well and freeze. Assemble and bake at the holidays!

Dip in your egg then your breading. Fry drain on paper towels then freeze without fixing with the cheeses and sauce. They stay really fresh. Then when you want then just defrost and layer for parm. I use flour not breadcrumbs

Tip:
Only male eggplants. They have fewer seeds. The male has a round circle where it comes off the stem and the girl has a straight line instead.

Hey Everyone! Been absent a bit getting kids back to college.

Thinking about the holidays which are really just a few months away. My kids have requested Stuffed Shells.

Sharing this recipe for Homemade Ricotta:

1 gallon whole milk (best quality you can find)
1 quart whole butter milk
1 pint heavy cream
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
Freshly grated nutmeg

In heavy bottom stainless steel pot heat milk, butter milk, and cream over medium heat to 190 degrees. Stir occasionally, especially near end making sure to scrape the bottom to prevent sticking.

Add sugar and salt and stir gently.

Remove from heat. Pour lemon juice over top and stir gently for about 30 sec.

Line colander with cheese cloth. Pour about half the contents of the pot through the cheese cloth. You want get most of the whey (the clear milky part out of the pot.). Grate nutmeg into curds in pot. Stir.

Pour remaining contents of pot into colander. Let strain for about ten minutes. Wrap cheese tightly in cheese cloth pressing out as much of the whey as possible.

Tie tightly and hang over bowl (it should be suspended over bowl, not resting in it) in cool area (or refrigerator). The longer it rests the denser it will become.

For moist ricotta suspend for about an hour. For dense ricotta suspend four hours or overnight.
