Lichen was made during a creative music production challenge in December 2022.

32 producers were assigned random partners to practice communication while getting a chance to work with new people within the Aedi community.

13 tracks were submitted and voted to four favourites by the community. The release title and artwork were made collectively, and all the 100s of Aedis were free to participate.

We are pleased to share another creation of our hive mind.

IV was made in December 2020 as an experiment in creative minimalism.

Each track uses only four audio channels with one sound source each. 24 contributions were submitted, anonymously listened to, and voted down into six by the over 200 producers on the label.

We are pleased to share another creation of our hive mind.

The 'Embryos' compilation was created during a creative exercise by 37 producers, using only samples provided by Hypnus' mastering engineer Mattias Fridell.

Mattias then chose 25 of his favorite contributions, which our collective of 260+ producers voted into 12 favorites that are now mastered and assembled.

Synergy is a compilation made by 23 producers uniting for the first time through their separate passions.

Nearly 50 producers were asked what specific aspect they enjoyed the most in music production. Some aligned with beat-making; others preferred to make atmospheres, synthesis experimentation, field recording, or mixing.

Michel Iseneld grouped them into 15 teams of three, where each participant focused only on their area of passion.

These teams were then paired with five Aedi members whose passion was mixing. These mixing enthusiasts then brought their expertise into the creative process, bringing all the elements together.

Out of the resulting 15 tracks, the community of over 250 producers chose seven of them through a democratic vote.

Synergy is a statement that encourages music creatives to think differently, collaborate, and always remember that creativity should be fun.

With great humility and pride, we announce the dawn of Aedi.

We are a collective record label that unites over 250 electronic music producers and enthusiasts—assembled by Michel Iseneld, founder of Hypnus Records.

Together we have shaped every aspect of the imprint during a systematic process of democratic discussions, idea submissions and votes.

We learn and explore the fields of electronic music production collectively daily. By sharing our minds in an inclusive environment, we grow both as individuals and a group simultaneously.

AEDI001 contains the first musical harvest of our creative quest, featuring eight tracks made by 14 producers collaborating for the first time.

We have a lot more in store and feel excited to explore this new way of collectively learning and sharing music beyond the traditional record label format.
