It's a funny thing, learning to love yourself.

It's not something that happens overnight, or even in one day. It is a process that takes time and patience—and sometimes, it can be frustrating and challenging.

But if you keep at it, it will make all the difference in your life.

I recently learned this as I've been working on my self-esteem and body image. I've been trying to see myself as beautiful, but not in the way that society tells us we should be beautiful—with makeup and filters! Instead, I've been looking for ways to celebrate my true self: the person who is kind and funny and loving—not just the person who looks good in selfies.

This journey has been eye-opening for me; it has revealed a type of freedom money can't buy and opened up a world of possibilities that I never knew existed before now. And while there are still days when I struggle with these issues (no matter how much progress we make), they are getting easier with each passing day because they're no longer things holding me back from living my best life possible.

Mense het vir my gesê om jou nie orals saam te vat nie. "Los hom by vriende of jou ouers". "Jy kort ook alleen tyd". "Dit sal goed wees vir julle albei om bietjie weg te kom". "Baba's moet bietjie gelos word om te huil, dit doen hulle goed"

Eks seker dat dit als waar is maar....
Ek het jou nie in hierdie wêreld ingebring sodat jy moet in myne inpas nie. Jy's ook nie hier om my wêreld omvêr te gooi nie.
Ek het wel jou in die wêreld ingebring vertroosting te bied as jy bang of hartseer is, om na jou om te sien, veilig hou en jou te voed wanneer jy honger is.

Ek word soms ongeduldig en oorweldig wanneer jy konstant vertroosting soek en in my arms wil wees, my naby aan jou soek of op my bors aan die slaap raak wil raak maar

Ek het aan jou geboorte gegee en in die wêreld ingebring om tot my beste vermoë vir jou n veilige hawe te bied n geruste hart te voorsien en altyd lief gehê te voel.

Die tydelike ongerief wat saam met die nuwe lyfie in my lewe inkom is my tweede kans om n nuwe lewe te leef en voorbereiding vir die begin van joune.

Ek het sisteme in plek gestel om te kan hanteer wat ek nie nou meer altyd by kan uit kom nie en vriende en familie wat vir enige tyd vir my sal instaan, bystaan en help waar ek dit nodig sal hê.

Maar jy, vir nou het jy hoofsaaklik net vir my en ek sal altyd tot my beste vermoë beskikbaar en gewillig wees. Ek sal na jou behoeftes en ook begeertes omsien en altyd tyd maak.

Ek sal deur hierdie hoofstuk van die lewe aanpas en kompromie aangaan soos dit nodig is, want dit sal nie vir ewig wees wat jy afhanklik is van my nie en eendag sal ek dit mis.

Ek sal jou omhels as jy bang is, jou vertroetel wanneer jy aanraking soek, en jou dra en vashou net soveel soos jy dit nodig het.
Ek sal jou in my arms veilig hou en onvoorwaardelik liefhê.

Binnekort sal dit slegs n herrinering wees hoe jy my nodig het vir voeding en jy sal stadig maar seker onafhanklik word en nie meer konstant in my arms te wil wees nie of op my skoot pas nie.

En dit gaan en mis.

So vir nou...

Sal ek jou vas hou in my arms elke oomblik wat ek kan omdat ek jou lief het en vir niks in die wêreld sal verruil nie.

The mind is a powerful thing and sometimes I find myself doubting myself so much, feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, scared and it's a downward spiral from there. 📉

But these thoughts are not always the truth and you have to actively recognize that and stop thoughts wandering around in your mind because your mind is a garden and if you keep watering negative thought patterns it is most likely to grow plants and weeds in your garden and take over all the beautiful parts over night because what you plant is what will grow if you give it time space and water.

I choose to plant beautiful flowers and plants that will provide me with oxygen, and I choose to destroy all weeds and intruder plants, I will work every day to get rid of invasive thorny bushes & rather make my garden a place I love to be in, a space that feeds my soul with all that is good and healthy📈
