In our latest video, we had an amazing time walking around the Park Tunnel in Nottingham. It was originally designed to give horse drawn carriages access to the city from the opulent Park Estate. It is now not much more than a public footpath although beautiful nonetheless 🙂💙

4 years ago, we had an amazing adventure to Scotland on the Caledonian Sleeper. We visited Glasgow Central, Queen Street, Stirling, Alloa and Balloch. We also stayed at the Premier Inn Charing Cross which is built over the station

This is a short video of the site of Kimberley West Station we visited recently. The station building is a private residence but the cutting to the east is safeguarded as a site of specific scientific interest 🙂💙🚂

And lastly, we went for a walk alongside the tramline in Nottingham through the Wilford area. The trams run alongside the alignment of the Great Central Main Line. There are some public footpaths where the overbridges are still in place 😊💙🚂

We've had a busy day! ☺️ First we went to Wilwell Farm Cutting, a nature reserve between Ruddington and Wilford. The nature reserve uses the cutting on the Great Central Main Line. This is just before the Nottingham Trams run over the alignment 🚂💙😊

Our look around Kimberley, Notts took us to part of the Great Northern Railway Path. This runs from High Street, Kimberley to the point where the A610 road cuts across the track alignment. There are lots of artifacts to see along the route as well as a signal and bench designed out of a buffer stop 😊🚂💙

We recently visited the site of Kimberley East Railway Station. The station building itself is in fantastic condition and the trackbed has been turned into a nature reserve with a few railway related surprises 😊💙

We found out about this site through tracing the disused line on Google Maps. There are some wonderful surprises in this nature reserve!

Meadow Lane crossing in Nottingham used to be a level crossing. There are some remnants such as the height warning sign for the bridge when it was a through road and some of the level crossing signs haven't been taken down. We love tracking things like this down 😊💙

Sometimes it feels like we are fated to find new & interesting things. This gem is called The Park Tunnel in Nottingham. It was created to allow horse drawn coaches to access the city from The Park Estate. It now serves little more purpose than that of a public footpath. Visually stunning regardless 😊💙

We've had a fab first adventure of 2024! We visited the site of Kimberley East Railway Station. The station building is still there and part of the trackbed is now a nature reserve. We then traced the Great Northern Railway Path to the A610 and then visited & walked along the imposing Bennerley Viaduct that crosses the Erewash Valley 😊💙🚂

Our visit to Spondon Railway station was really enjoyable despite the weather. We got to see some relics from the past and you can tell it was much busier when the Celanese plant was open 🙂🚂🚃🚃🚃
