Prices for veterinary services in Germany ⁠ ⁠
If you live/have moved with a pet in Germany, you should take out insurance for the pet. The prices for insurance as well as the services provided differ dramatically. It all depends on a bunch of parameters from age to breed. Conditional price from 10€ per month to 150€+.ll give you an example. Our cat got sick and I immediately took him to the vet. I decided to immediately go to a large center where there is a hospital and an emergency department. Below are some prices:

Inspection - 32€

Blood sampling + consumables + analysis - 88€

Abdominal ultrasound - 125€

Urinalysis with puncture - 85€

Entering drugs with a syringe - 5€

Hospitalization per day - 17€

Dropper (infusion pump) - 74€

F***l analysis - 153€

These are just some of the prices I have listed. For 1 day I immediately gave 400 €, for the second 250 €. The cat was discharged and sent for treatment at the place of residence. Our veterinarian had 3-4 more appointments for ~150€. As a result, everything intermediately came out to ~ 1200 €.

I share information so that pet owners do not disdain pet insurance when moving to Germany. Veterinarian services in case of illness cost quite sensitive money.

Our insurance costs 56€ per month, as the cat has undergone surgery in the past and is no longer a kitten. It has already paid for itself many years before.

PS An abdominal operation costs 1000€-3000€ . When you leave a cat in a hospital, you sign a document with a price range for the operation, if it is bypassed.
