aka TURON, well for me at least. For those unfamiliar with the concept the best way to explain it is "dessert spring rolls".
Saving the best for last, eto yung "money shot" last night dinner. Was so excited, that we bit into it completely disregarding the fact na same temperature siya ng impyerno. Pero masarap siya overall, the caramel sauce was worth licking your fingers clean! 🫔👌

They give you an option to either get noodles, fried rice or normal rice with it. Almost found ourselves having no room for dessert before we finished the bowls! 🍚🥢

Sunday is "Sariling Sikap" Day.
I don't have sundried tomatoes, so I just made the tomato paste extra toasty. Deglazed with dry rosé. Then finished by adding spinach and salmon back while it simmers.

Literally means "hot rice", grew up eating these when it raining specially on days when its so hard that classes would be suspended. We don't use kasubha (safflower) thats why it looks pale in comparison to the lugaw everyone is used to. Its the simplicity of it that actually makes it a good "comfort food".
