Cinema has returned to Kashmir after an absence of more than 33 years. In September 2022, a new multiplex cinema, INOX Srinagar, lit up its three screens for the first time. This was followed by the inauguration of multipurpose cinema halls in Pulwama and Shopian districts in October 2022, and in Baramulla and Handwara districts in January 2023.

The reopening of cinemas in Kashmir is a significant development, as it is seen as a sign of normalcy returning to the region. Cinemas were shut down in the early 1990s due to the onset of militancy, and their reopening has been welcomed by the people of Kashmir.

The initial response to the reopening of cinemas has been positive. The INOX Srinagar has been reporting full houses, and the other cinema halls have also been doing well. This suggests that there is a pent-up demand for cinema-going in Kashmir, and that people are eager to enjoy the movies again.

The reopening of cinemas is also seen as a positive step for the local economy. Cinemas provide employment opportunities, and they also help to boost tourism. The hope is that the reopening of cinemas will help to revitalize the economy of Kashmir.

Of course, there are some challenges that will need to be addressed in order for cinemas to be sustainable in Kashmir. These challenges include security concerns, the lack of a regular power supply, and the high cost of doing business. However, the people of Kashmir are hopeful that these challenges can be overcome, and that cinemas will continue to play an important role in the cultural life of the region.

Here are some additional details about the reopening of cinemas in Kashmir:

* The INOX Srinagar is a 524-seat multiplex with three screens. It is located in the Shivpora area of Srinagar.
* The multipurpose cinema halls in Pulwama and Shopian each have a seating capacity of 100 people.
* The multipurpose cinema halls in Baramulla and Handwara each have a seating capacity of 200 people.
* The films that have been screened in the cinema halls so far include Bollywood blockbusters such as "Pathan", "RRR", and "KGF: Chapter 2".
* The reopening of cinemas in Kashmir has been welcomed by the people of the region. They are eager to enjoy the movies again, and they see the reopening of cinemas as a sign of normalcy returning to the region.

They are 3,097 MW Etalin, 680 MW Attunli, 500 MW Emini, 420 Amulin and 400 MW Mihumdon, SJVN said in a statement.

The government of Arunachal Pradesh has terminated pacts with various private power developers as they "showed less interest" in executing projects given to them, the statement said

These days, the announcement in the familiar style of the Railways is taking place at 16 kms from Banihal towards Jammu and 50 kms away at Sumber railway stations.

Testing of Passenger Information System (P*S) is going on here. If everything goes according to the plan of Northern Railway and construction agencies, then by August 15 next month, the train will be seen standing at the railway station. Means this will further reduce the distance to go to Kashmir by train. However, it will take time for the train to reach Sumber.
At present, the train comes from Jammu side to Katra and from Kashmir side to Banihal in Jammu division. The work of completing the 111 kilometer long railway section between Banihal-Katra is in progress. Amidst the ongoing preparations to connect Kashmir with the rest of the country by train by next year, if the train reaches Khadi railway station by next month, it will be a major achievement.

According to railway sources, the CEO of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is about to retire. Efforts are being made to start rail operations from Banihal to Khadi during his tenure by 15th August.

Out of the total 272 km long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, 161 km has been completed in three phases. In the first phase, the 118 km Qazigund-Baramulla section was completed in October 2009.

In the second phase, the 18 km long Banihal-Qazigund railway section was commissioned in June 2013. Rail operations were started in July 2014 on the 25 kilometer long Udhampur-Katra rail section. At present, work is on to complete the 111 km long railway section between Banihal and Katra. 97 percent work of this project has been completed.
The Jammu–Baramulla line is a railway track being laid to connect the Kashmir Valley in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir with Jammu railway station and thence to the rest of the country. The 356 km railway track will start from Jammu and end at Baramulla. It comes under the jurisdiction of the Firozpur railway division of Indian Railways' Northern zone. The 359 m (1,178 ft) tall Chenab Bridge lies on this line, which once completed will be the tallest railway bridge in the world.
