Woahhhh. So it’s 10:30 and I’m just grateful to be ending the semester and being able to see some of my CR friends soon ! The lord called me to my piano and I just began to worship, Patmos by and came to mind . First off there aren’t any chord charts out and so listening to the song I tried to find some chords, which I don’t have a knack for haha we are working on it BUT THEN I began to hear it in Spanish 🤯 this never. Happens. But thank you God for a new skill, rhyming in English is hard enough and all those syllables lol

2 yrs ago I walked into looking to start kickboxing classes because after doing sports alI throughout school, I missed being part of “something”. Little did I know I’d fall In love with Jiu Jitsu, find a home, gain a plethora of brothers (who beat me up) and made a new family. It was more than a weight loss journey, it’s more than just for medals and tournaments. It truly is a lifestyle, one that I cannot see myself without ! Blessed to be doing this with God making a way.
Some hoorays:
•I Lost alllll the weight + some that I gained after my devastating knee surgery
• Gained mobility back in my knee and Back. I swear my knees are stronger than before.
•started Coaching
•Pushing my body to new limits,longer training hours = Better eating
• Healed my relationship with Food
•Gained confidence
•Started a sport media businessfocus.photography
•Became a brand ambassador for some of my favorite brands
• Gained life long friendships and have met the coolest people 🥹
Grateful for each person I’ve shared the mat with and every door that’s been opened !! 😘

Today Makes one year as a blue belt, little did I know when I first walked into gym I was going to be addicted. I’ve learned so much on and off the mat and have so much more to go. But I can’t help and stop to think about how grateful I am for how far I’ve come. Cheers to another year and many more, I’m in it for the long run. Thankful for every person I’ve met, strangers, to training partners who beat me up, to friends to family.

To the future white belt who’s been admiring from a far, always wishing to be able to do what they’ve seen…this is your sign to TRY IT. Sign up for that class, try out that new hobby. Take a chance to explore something new because you might just become passionate about it.
Especially my GIRLSSSS COME ON SIS this is AWESOMEEEE
It won’t be easy but it’s worth it. NEVER give up. 💙

Living the dream 💙 But an expensive one.
As my time is coming to an end back home I will be moving back to go to school after 6months of being a missionary. August marks one year of me being gone from San Marcos. I don’t just train 2x a week I train 2-3 hrs a DAY at Fighteria.Tx during school. I am coming into my SENIOR YEAR whaaaaa. I am pursuing my degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish and will be getting my masters in Applied Behavioral Analysis to become a BCBA. I have been a behavioral technician for 3 yrs now. I am in awe and with so much gratitude for the life story the lord has been writing. I’ve competed out of state at worlds in CA , wanting to challenge myself and go to PAN AMS which is in Garland TX. Gi Pan American is in FL every year. My Gi’s avg about $200, registration for tournaments are $60-210 plus a monthly gym membership is costly and On top of it all I compete in Austin, San Antonio and Houston anywhere I’ll get a fight. Gas is insane! As I just finished paying off my summer courses I’ve got an even bigger bill for fall courses at my university!

Therefore I am looking for SPONSORS, in my previous years of school I was working 35 hr weeks, training AND having a full 15hr course load as a full time student who trains AND works haha. You can imagine it was hard. But due to the intensity and length of my senior courses it is impossible. I cannot and will not give up BJJ, it’s more than a hobby, it’s my lifestyle.

So if you’ve read this far and know where to start please lmk! Whether it be through advertising on social media, putting your company on my GI, monthly tax deductible sport donations any tips or ideas helps 🙂

Some people get hype,blast music, shake the nerves. I am still before God with thanksgiving.

What I tell myself:
•Thank you God for the opportunity to train and compete
•Regardless of the outcome I am a champion
•I deserve to win I put the effort in
•Would all that I do be for your glory
•I’m not nervous but excited to showcase what I’ve trained
•It’s either me or her
•Pull and trip
•Stay calm
•Keep it slow
•She will go down into the mat
•No one can stop me
•I’m unstoppable
•I’m unbreakable
•I am resilient
•I am fearless
•I am the stronger fighter
•I will recover

My lil nugget passed this morning. It’s been a hard week and now he’s gone. Not just a pet, not just an animal but part of the family. Thankful for the time we had, I’m just undone. My other boy is about to hit 13 yrs, It’s so hard when they get older. Lucas was the best protector, saved me from a loose dog as a pup and protected the house daily. Forever will be missing this sweet boy and his hugs 🤍

That’s me on bottom. Got stuck, tried my best couldn’t recover. You win some you lose some and let me tell you this was a huge loss.

I was really nervous leading up to it but after I prayed I felt confident, calm and ready to dominate. I really believed in myself and was not able to execute.
“Every loss is an opportunity to learn” yes, but I’m disappointed in my performance, don’t need to sit on it forever but I am disappointed. I know I’m a better fighter than I showed. I was in top half guard which I feel very confident in at the gym and did not pass how I’ve practiced. I was in gaurd but did not break it like I practiced. I drilled and rolled so many positions and did not do what I practiced. Bummer.

BUT I did show up, when my body was falling apart, tore this,bruised that, sprained this. when I was crying ready to quit, I showed up. When my calluses were bleeding and my joints swelling I SHOWED UP. I trained hard but I did not reflect that today. I managed to control my nerves and was pushed mentally more than I’ve ever been.

Learned a lot. Thankful for this opportunity to even train. Thankful for this sport and the investment of others to get me to CA. I wish I did better but now back to the mats to make sure this never happens again.
I felt stuck. Helpless and weak.
NEVER. AGAIN.

On to the next
See you in July.
This is only the beginning
I will rise. I will be a champion.
