His quick response to an accidental wireless message which led to the rescue of six fisher men from a sinking boat. Mr. Pavithran will be felicitated for his exemplary service during a department - level meeting next week.

Malappuram: Mr. K Gopalakrishnan, Malappuram district collector entered in quarantine. Based on the contact with many people while leading the rescue operation in connection with the Karipur plane crash, District medical officer K Sakkina has informed that Gopalakrishnan was advised to go to the quarantine.

Air India Express passenger plane overshot the runway and broke into two after landing in the southern city of Calicut in heavy rain. 20 death have been reported so far.

Ponnani Faces Wrath of Sea

Ponnani: 40 More houses along the coast of Ponnani area were damaged as the turbid Arabian Sea carved into the coast at places where the sea walls were missing.

Hundreds of people living in the coast at Marakkadavu, Aliyarpalli, Hilar Palli,
Murinjazhi, Mulla Road, and Puthuponnani evacuated their houses following the threat of sea erosion.

Police seized 630 grams of gold while trying to evade taxes

The police seized 630 grams of gold worth over Rs 30 lakh from Vailathoor on a bike from Valancherry to Tirur. The gold was seized by a team led by State Tax Officer (Intelligence) KP Velayudhan on the instructions of GST Intelligence Joint Commissioner Feroz Katil and Deputy Commissioner K Muhammad Salim. As there were not enough documents at the time of inspection.
