John Rafferty CEO, Coffs CEX Club ... with Alec From the 'Institute for the prevention of Domestic Violence', after a very meaningful-conversation, sharing their views, ideas and especially new ones, on

a 'Preventative and a Remedial' approach to the devastating impacts of domestic violence on individuals and Australian Society as a whole .... and how we are working together to

help to reduce the damage to people's lives and their lifestyle ... despite the many on-going challenges ...

POST: Part 3: May 30th 2022: Following recent Conversations with David Hagarty, co-owner of Coffs Harbour’s CBD COCOA’S Restaurant, and Alec, this post considers another brief comment on the ‘Coffs Jetty Revitalisation Draft Masterplan ...’, through the eyes of some of the audience who attended the May 12th 2022 presentation High School Precinct, Jetty Village, by The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.

In the weeks following the May 12th presentation, conversations with local stakeholders (who are also residents) have included several local builders, civil/structural-design engineers, transportation advocates, postal delivery personnel, CHCC personnel, CBD business owners, local counsellors and Tourism operatives ...et al

Some of the attendees at the presentation felt that answers to their questions were not addressed sufficiency and many were also not happy with the poor acoustics and visuals – Indeed, Does Coffs Harbour with its 85K + population have a ‘Tiered-Seating’, theatre-style venue with its own quality sound systems appropriate enough for such an important project review. Which the Ancient-Greeks had solved over approximately 2,500 years ago and not to mention the Romans of course!

Returning to the topic of buildings, Coffs, own ‘in-progress’, 100k cultural-civic space centre, when one my interviewees asked a question about “Why the ‘Draft masterplan ... did not appear to include an interlinked road and public transport system?”

The answer came back was “Because of the cost” So, we are ‘happy’ to spend 100k + on a single building, but not on the beginnings of a Road/PT network, before ‘building commencement ...?’

Is the ‘Masterplan’ going to be like so many other ideas that result in buildings and very little of anything else? “How do we address people movement and meetings challenges, or is it – “We will worry about that afterwards ...??”

POST: Part 2: May 21st 2022: Conversation with David Hagarty, co-owner of Coffs Harbour’s CBD COCOA’S Restaurant, and Alec, reviewing ‘Coffs Jetty Revitalisation Draft Masterplan ...’

Whilst, the draft masterplan looks inviting, there are several possible ‘shortcoming’, aspects of which will be reviewed in post, part three. However, at this stage there appears to be an absence of a Public Transport and integrated road System. Especially, a tram linking the CBD, The Jetty, Airport, The Bunker Gallery, Racecourse, Sawtell et al.

David and Alec both reflected on Sydney’s (Now removed) Overhead Monorail System, which, if it was linked to the various ferry wharves, Kings Cross and other inner-city precincts, would have provided a wonderful public transport part-solution for the CBD ...

Alec, with a background in similar London and Eurozone projects is always happy to engage people such as David, where we both share a unique understanding of cities and their needs in terms of sustainable urban regeneration inclusive of walkable vehicle-free precincts and integrated greenspace ...et al

POST: May 19th 2022, DrAlecConversations suggests ...

There appears to be so much of the almost ‘free-stuff ...’Being offered by both parties et al, like lots more doctors, hospitals and ambulances et al ...’Paid by Governments ...?’ No by the TAX-PAYER ...

However, what is equally concerning is “Are we all being continually encouraged to seek the advice on about absolutely everything (it appears) from our already hard-working General Practitioners. Have conversations with one’s family/friends and the informed first!

Although, there is nothing wrong about ‘seeking advice’ but what is it associated with? Is society becoming even more uninterested in looking after our own bodies, before dashing off to ‘The Doctors ...?’ Despite the focussed efforts of your committed and dedicated GP, to advise the best health and lifestyle options, many patients are still not going to exercise, watch their diet and have regular conversations with others ...to help balance their physical and mental health status ...

Indeed, what has happened to our awareness and responsibility for our own wellbeing ...? The moment it seems when there is even a basic health issue ...a ‘runny nose’ even, a sense of urgency to visit the local hard-working doctor and a test for this or that and an injection and perhaps some ‘pills ...just in case. Indeed, “Has this become even more of today’s norm ...?”

And as promised by our New (upcoming) Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, people will not have to wait weeks see their doctor (“Does that include, specialists ...?”) When (?) Albanese - becomes PM and this is notwithstanding his committed extra funding for Medicare ...? And there is, housing of course ...? Some previous generations were paying over 20% interest on their housing loans ...!!

POST May 18th 2022: “Dan’s Punishing Solution for Covid-19 ...”

Premier Dan Andrews hands out more than 50,000 fines to Victorians breaching his hated Covid-19 rules - but most still haven't been paid – This is despite the fact that even if people have been vaccinated numerous times, some have still contracted the Virus ...some seriously ...!!

This is because there are so many, many variables, to contend with. However, there are few guarantees that people will not contract C-19 (vaccinated or not ...?) Therefore, also undertake your own wellness-orientated research, as well as listening to dedicated health and lifestyle professionals and have regular Conversations with family, friends and colleagues ...

However, one of the central preventative elements in all illnesses (inclusive of viruses and bacteria infections et al ...) Is a Combination of Nutritious Foods, a Regular Exercise Regime, clean toxic-free environment, Social & Cultural Connectedness, Stress-reduction, Self-awareness ... and caring for each other ... including a reduction in a dependence on drugs ...

POST: Federal Election May 2022: Anthony Albanese promises to invest $1 billion in advanced manufacturing ... ‘Perhaps with funds sourced from gains in efficiency ...?’

At last, it seems that we will have a new Prime Minister, according to some commentators ...that will return manufacturing to Australia ...How really wonderful is that?

‘A country that makes things’: Labor’s $15b manufacturing plan to be unveiled ...? We might even get electric cars and lots more farm-related equipment made here ...?

Labor, will propose a multibillion-dollar fund to pump-prime Australia’s manufacturing sector, promising to partner with the private sector, (‘And also with the unions and the greens perhaps ...?’) including superannuation funds, to commercialise local innovation in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, (more vaccines even?) food processing and transport options, (will trains replace trucks ...?) With the investment in ‘RAIL, as long as train drivers can ‘lean-out’ of their windows ...?’ ...And with our ‘pool’ of skilled personnel ready to take-up the challenge ...?

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s release of the aforementioned $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund as a key federal election commitment on ‘Tuesday’, which he says will drive regional economic development ...
.. And will boost the nation’s sovereign capability and diversify the economy ... “But will it ... given that there are multi-levels of Government Bureaucracies’ ...?”

POST: May 17th 2022: Blue Mountains to get Australia's longest road tunnel, ‘promises’ of reduced travel times ...by the NSW Government

An 11-kilometre tunnel from Blackheath to Little Hartley has been confirmed as the preferred option in the Great Western Highway upgrades to improve travel across the mountains. Question , can they build a rail-link that uses the tunnel at the same time? Or is that a ‘silly idea ...?’ Because it reflects ‘lateral -thinking ...?’

The highway is one of only two roads across the Blue Mountains connecting the central west with the state's capital, where communities, including the Farming, Manufacturing and Associated Sectors (McHarg, 1975, 1988, 1992 et al), in western areas have long called for something that will be more reflective than an ‘Upgrade ...’

NSW and Australia et al need more of this type of Infrastructure, with reduce Travel and Transportation costs, to help us become more efficient and competitive for our re-visited ‘focus’ on manufacturing (Albanese, 2022) and to further energise our Tourism & Hospitality Sectors ... (McHarg, 2019-22, et al)

A modern-day version of ‘Cinderella’ has played out at a Regional Western Australian High School, after it was inundated with clothing donations for students wishing to attend their school ball. A demonstration of ‘Social & Community Connectedness’... in action...!!

A Kambalda West District High School had asked for dress donations ahead of its School Ball. More than 100 dresses have been donated to the school from around Western Australia ... ... The fairy godmother in this story is Kambalda West District High School Principal Candice Brown, who put the word out on social media to ensure every student could attend the "rite of passage".

POST: Friday 13th May 2022: Anthony Albanese, Our next ‘Prime Minister ...?’

Does it really matter if Albanese ‘stumble’s’ over basic economic questions? Can we really expect Australia’s NEXT Prime Minister to understand the dynamics of ‘Global-influences’ on Australia’s ‘Cost of Living’ pressures ...’? For example, Surely Putin’s invasion of Ukraine et al and restrictions in the supply of oil & gas has very little to do our situation here ...?

Indeed, what does America’s & UK’s (AND ... the Eurozone’s) cost of living, interest rate rises and supply-chain challenges, got to do with Australia...?

As a sovereign nation – Anthony Albanese, as our next ‘Prime Minister’ should be able to ‘suggest’ a 5% wage rise for all workers without affecting inflation and further increases in the Cost of Living ...?? Or should he ...?
... Watch this space ...!!

POST: 8th May, 2022, Day Before PUTINs ‘Victory Parade’: Russia moves forces to Mariupol ahead of 'Victory Day Parade’, just so PUTINs Murderous Ego can be massaged yet again!

Isn’t Russia May 9th Victory Celebration, a celebration of the end of one war?? So why is it going to be also a celebration about the beginning of another war after ‘A Special Military Operation’ has been in place for months ...?

Why Can’t RUSSIANS have a “CELEBRATION ABOUT LOVE & KINDNESS ...?”

If PUTIN is looking for ‘Positive Symbolism’ in order to celebrate RUSSIA’S unique and humanitarian role in society (NOT!) during this ‘Contemporary Period of the 21st Century?’
“WHERE IS IT ...” And if so, where is the evidence ...?
