A section of Mt. Kenya leaders are vouching for hon. Martha Karua as DP William Ruto's runningmate in the upcoming 2022 polls.
DailyKe has learnt that the leaders from the region who are pushing for this have noted Karua's long political and leadership experience.
Karua has also been seen as a champion in defending the constitution and the rule of law.
The former Justice Minister has again been in the forefront fighting for the country's economy, and being a strong critic of Uhuru's administration on excess borrowing.
Martha has never been swayed by any political wave. Even if it means standing alone. She has stood for what she knows is right and cannot wait for direction by any political master.
It is worth noting that Karua has never been involved in any corruption cases and will also satisfy the empowerment of women to the position of top leadership in the country.
These, and other reasons, form the basis of this push to have Karua as William Ruto's runningmate as the 2022 General Elections come .
