😵‍💫 People with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) have difficulties regulating their emotions. It means that they feel everything more intensely and for a longer period of time. After an emotionally triggering event, it is harder for them to return to a stable baseline.

📊 The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) estimates that 1.4% of the adult US population experiences BPD. Nearly 75% of people diagnosed with BPD are women.

📱 We talked to Kristen, 27 years old, on the phone about her diagnosis. In several voice messages she explains how it feels to live with BPD.

🧠 Often, affected people face prejudices about their disorder, such as not being able to love or to commit to a romantic relationship. But this is not the case, it is quite the opposite, as Kristen explained.

🎧 Listen to our most recent episode 2.6 “Borderline Personality Disorder: How It Feels” for the full interview.

🚨 If you recognize symptoms of BPD in your life, don’t be discouraged. Many people are getting treatment learning how to live a satisfying life with the diagnosis. If you need help, please consider using the following resources:
