: An overhead bridge at the New Artisan Market axis in the Enugu State Capital collapsed on Monday morning.

The incident has been confirmed by the Enugu State Government.

A fully-loaded truck and an unidentified lorry were on the bridge when it suddenly collapsed.

However, no casualty has been reported as of the time of filing this report.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Works in the State, Engr. Gerald Otiji, urged the members of the public to make use of alternative routes.

“The Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure wishes to notify the General public of the bridge collapse which occurred on 25th September 2023 along Kilometer One, Enugu Port Harcourt Expressway, i.e, between Naira Triangle and Goshen Flyover.

“The general public and road users are hereby advised to detour to Nza through New Haven, or Ogui Road to their various destinations, while the authorities are coming up with measures for immediate repair on the failed section,” he wrote.

: Police confirm death of female evangelist in Aba hotel during s3x session with church overseer

The Abia State Police Command, Thursday, confirmed the death of a female evangelist in an Aba hotel during a s*x session with the General Overseer of her church last Saturday night.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Chinaka Maureen, “On the 13th of August, 2023, at approximately 09:30 AM, Mr. Godwin Akpan (male), residing at Jubilee Guest House in Ovom village, Obingwa LGA, reported to the Isiala Ngwa Police Division that an incident had occurred.

“It was revealed that on the evening of the 12th of August, 2023, around 09:25 PM, a clergyman named Timothy Otu (male), associated with Agape Evangelical Ministry at Obikabia Junction in Obingwa LGA, had checked into the guest house along with a woman named Happiness Echieze (female) from Isialangwa LGA, Abia State. Happiness Echieze was 43 years of age.

“Further details provided by Mr. Akpan indicated that on the same date, around 12:00 AM, he entered the hotel room of the aforementioned clergyman and discovered the lifeless body of Happiness Echieze. She was found unclothed, and a white substance was emanating from her mouth and nose. Regrettably, the clergyman was absent from the scene.

“We hereby inform the public that immediate preliminary investigations have been launched into this matter. The deceased’s body has been transported from the location and is currently at the SDA Mortuary in Aba, awaiting an autopsy examination.

“Additionally, we wish to convey that the suspected individual, in this case, has been apprehended and the case has been transferred to the State CID for discreet investigations.”

The married church evangelist and mother of five was found dead in a hotel room, allegedly during a marathon s*x session with her church overseer in the guest house.

Probably starved of s*x because her husband works in Bayelsa, she decided to take to the church Bishop for comfort when nature calls.

The deceased evangelist had lodged in a hotel with the Bishop/General Overseer of the church and a source said “nobody knows how long this had been happening,” stating that the evangelist, reported to have died in the hotel room around 11 pm on Saturday, August 12, 2023, arrived the guest jouse probably around 9 pm, having told her children that she was going for a “Tarry Night” church service that usually would have ended by about 12:30 am the next Sunday.

“Either it was pre-arranged or her inability to come home after the church service may have prompted her to accept being quartered in the quest house till morning,” the source said.

It was reported that at about 10:55 pm, the Bishop, who had lodged in with her, looking horribly disturbed, surfaced at the hotel front desk, telling those on the night shift that he was going to buy food at that time of the night.

“The hotel workers promptly reported the observation to the manager who went to the room to know what happened, only to see the lifeless naked body of the evangelist on the hotel bed,” the source said.

The manager of the hotel, who suspected foul play, was said to have reported the incident to the Eastern Ngwa Police Station in Obingwa Local Government Area around 1 am on Sunday morning.

“The woman was found lying naked with foam coming out of her mouth and nose when police arrived the scene,” it was reported, observing that when her mobile phone was accessed, it was discovered that the duo have been in a romantic relationship for quite some time.

The bishop, relatively known in Aba, was subsequently arrested at his Church at Obikabia Junction while preaching that Sunday morning and is said to be currently detained at the Eastern Ngwa Police Station Obingwa.

The deceased is said to be a native of Umuatakawom in Obingwa, while her husband was said to be at work in Bayelsa State when the incident happened.

Controversial Nigerian artiste, Naira Marley, has joined the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency's War Against Drug Abuse advocacy campaign.

This was made known in a post shared on the agency X, (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.

The agency while sharing the pictures wrote, “Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) with music star, Naira Marley, when the artiste paid a visit to the national headquarters of the agency in Abuja to declare support for the War Against Drug Abuse on Thursday, August 17, 2023.

“Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig. Gen. The Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has reserved its judgment on the petition filed by the Labour Party against Governor Peter Mbah and the PDP.

Justice Akano of the court said his panel would communicate their decision to the parties involved at a later date.

The Labour Party is challenging the outcome of the March 18 governorship election in the South East State.

In the suit, Governor Mbah, PDP and INEC are first, second and third respondents.

: The Executive Governor of Enugu State His Excellency Barr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah wrote this in his official page; Today at the Government House, I had the honour of receiving Dr Jane Bevan, The Chief of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), UNICEF Nigeria, who, together with her team, presented to me, a preliminary outline master plan for achieving the SDGs by 2030.

They commended me for placing Enugu State on the right track and highlighted core pillars and elements needed to achieve certain milestones in terms of water provision, proper sanitation and hygiene.

I thanked them for coming and appreciated the support of UNICEF so far.

Since inauguration, my administration declared a state of emergency on water provision. I promised Ndi Enugu that in 180 days from swearing-in, there will be regular water supply in our metropolis. We have 102 days left.

I am pleased to inform you, my dear people of Enugu State, that with what we have on ground at the moment, we are going to beat that deadline.

: Gunmen Raze Imo Monarch's Country Home, Vehicles, As Villagers Flee

Gunmen have razed the country home of the traditional ruler of Ndia Iche Arondizuogu community in the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Kanu Ikenolu.

The development has caused panic in the community as villagers including the household of the monarch fled into bushes.

Our correspondent gathered that on arrival, the attackers threw explosives into the mansion which led to the burning of the house, the properties in it and vehicles parked at the compound.

Our correspondent further gathered that the compound which houses the traditional ruler's home and his palace were heavily attacked by the invaders.

A villager who doesn't want to be mentioned told our correspondent that properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed by the arsonists.

He decried the police's inability to intervene as they were told as the arsonists struck.

The villager said" the palace of HRH Eze Ikenolu, the Eze of Ndia iche Arondizuogu has been invaded by the Unknown Gunmen and the people are in the bushes now."

Frustrated by the police's inability to respond, in an update a while later he said "until now no response from the police about the palace of HRH Eze Kanu in Ndianiche Arondizuogu, where cars, house and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed. Or is Arondizuogu no longer part of Imo State?."

The spokesperson for the police in the state Henry Okoye who confirmed the arson to our correspondent said "frantic investigating efforts are on top gear to arrest the arsonists and bring them to justice."

Falana Joins NLC Protests

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, joined the organised labour movement in Lagos State to protest against the Federal Government's removal of the fuel subsidy.

On Wednesday, protesters converged on the Ikeja underbridge in Lagos State.

The NLC had given the government a seven-day ultimatum with threats of a nationwide strike scheduled to commence on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.

SEALING OF SHOPS OVER BAN ON SIT-AT-HOME ORDERS

The Enugu State Government wishes to commend civil society organisations and residents that took ownership of government's ban on illegal sit-at-home orders by embarking on peaceful demonstrations in the capital city yesterday. Government commends the participants for their peaceful conduct throughout the demonstrations.

In previous announcements to the good people and residents of Enugu State, government had directed business and shop owners to open for normal businesses on Monday and every work day, or have the defaulting business premises and shops sealed. That was exactly what the government did on Monday, July 24, 2023, to enforce its earlier directives.

All businesses that were sealed shall remain sealed for one week, at the end of which they shall provide their current tax clearance certificates and all other relevant revenue documents to enable the state government to review and consider their formal letters for re-opening.

Again, all considerations start from Friday, July 28, 2023 from 2.00 pm at the Enugu State Capital Development Authority (ECTDA) headquarters.

Please be guided accordingly.

PHOTOS: Troops Destroy IPOB Hideout In Delta, Recover Arms

Troops of the Nigerian Army on Saturday destroyed the hideout of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra in Delta state.

The troops are of the 63 Brigade Garrison under the auspices of the 6 Division, Nigerian Army. The troops worked with the Department of State Services.

The security operatives during the operation destroyed the enclave of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra/Eastern Security Network in Delta State and captured a fleeing fighter. The troops also recovered fi****ms during the raid on the hideout.

Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu on Saturday revealed this feat in a statement shared on the Army's Twitter page.

Brigadier Nwachukwu said the clearance operation conducted was on a fortified enclave located in the middle of a forested high ground in the early hours of July 22.

The statement partly read, "The gallant troops overpowered the IPOB fighters in the exchange of fire that followed the encounter, compelling them to abandon their hideout in disarray. The troops captured one of the fleeing fighters and recovered five AK 47 Rifles, three Pump Action Semi-Automatic Rifles, one G3 Rifle, and one single-barrel gun.

"Other items recovered, include Live Cartridges, Electric Saw, Machetes, an Axe, and IPOB flag. The troops have destroyed the enclave and are exploiting the forest in pursuit of the fleeing fighters."

The Truth About The D£ath Of Miss Chinyere Awuda (Miss Chizzy)

Contrary to widespread reports, Miss Chinyere Awuda popularly known as "Miss Chizzy" was not beaten to d£ by anyone at Cosmila Hotel in Awka.
As a matter of fact, the said event never happened at Cosmila hotels, it happened at a club house owned by cosmila as a company as also confirmed by the police.

Findings from For the Love of Anambra shows that Miss Chizzy's d£ath was n0t due to any altercations or physical assualt as widely rep0rted.

The lady, who hails from Nnobi in Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was found d£ in an abandoned swimming pool in the premises of the hotel on Monday morning. CCTV images which was obtained by For The Love Anambra clearly showed what happened..the said chizzy was seen running all by herself looking for somewhere to hide.

Fun seekers at the club were spraying money on a celebrant who was celebrating the launch of his new clothing brand. Chizzy who was at the arena was sighted picking this monies which were clearly not hers. She did not only pick some sprayed money from the ground, she also went for bundles of money, which was gifted to the celebrant and he kept it by his seat side.

A fun seeker who was monitoring the situation called the attention of the fun seekers and on being noticed, Miss Chizzy took to her heels and in the process went to hide at the old swimming pool which was no longer in use. She will later be discovered dead the next morning.

The Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga who confirmed the incident has revealed that the celebrant and his friends were already in police custody while the case is being investigated.

The management of Cosmila Hotel who spoke to For The Love Of Anambra has been very corporative with the police as it concerns the ongoing investigations.

We will update the public with further findings even as investigations continue.

EFCC Secures Conviction Of Five Undergraduates For Internet-related Fraud In Kaduna

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the conviction of five undergraduates for internet-related fraud before Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court.

EFCC disclosed this on Saturday in a statement shared on its Twitter page.

The convicts, Chidebere Stanley Opara (Avail Hollywood), Manasseh Sefa Ephraim (aka Felicia_dannyels), Victor Odeh (aka Christopher Anderson), Chukwukere Obinna Paul ( aka Shaun Lee) and Enyogu Etim Ekpo (aka Henry Wilson; JASDAV7), were convicted of one count separate charge bordering on internet fraud.

The anti-graft agency arrested the fraudsters in a sting operation. The agency disclosed that the investigation revealed the convicts created fictitious accounts on various social media platforms to defraud unsuspecting victims. Most of the victims are foreigners.

The charge partly read, "Chidebere Stanley Opara sometime in May 2023 in Kaduna within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, impersonated one Avail Hollywood (an American Citizen) on "Google Chat " (an online social media application) and in such assumed character cheated one Duke Hardy”.

The offence is contrary to Section 308 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017, and punishable under Section 309 of the same Law.

They all pleaded guilty to charges against them.

In the light of their pleas, the prosecuting counsel, E.K Garba, M. E Eimonye and K.S Ogunlade urged the court to convict them accordingly.

Justice Khobo convicted and sentenced the defendants to two years imprisonment with an option of N150,000 fine each and to forfeit all proceeds of the crime to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
