Yes it’s February. Yes I love St. Valentin ... but I love wine more 🍷

I love having a glass of red wine after a long day or at 4:45 pm 🙃

My sisters and I use to sit in our sunken living room and enjoy a glass with our mom and DaddyB.

Now we are spread across the globe 🌎 ... quite literally 🙌🏾

Whenever I call them I know the wine is somewhere near. We can catch up laugh and enjoy a nice glass of French red wine 🍷

While everyone else is posting Christmas trees I’ll be over here posting about wine 🍷

This year we celebrating a little differently by decorating our home with a crèche instead of a tree.

A part of me missing the little green thing so I’m looking at old vineyard pictures to soothe my green “tree” need 👌🏾

& I went to the .haut chateau back in 2017. It was my first time in France for the summer and I was beyond excited to experience my first “chateau” and “vineyard” all in one place.

This is one of the places I’m looking forward to visiting again come 2021!

Pendant que tout le monde publie des arbres de Noël, je vais publier ici sur le vin 🍷

Cette année nous célébrons un peu différemment en décorant notre maison avec une crèche au lieu d'un arbre.

Une partie de moi manque la petite chose verte alors je regarde de vieilles photos de vignobles pour apaiser mon besoin «d'arbre» ​​vert 👌🏾

Mr. French et moi sommes allés au château purchase en 2017. C'était ma première fois en France cet été et j'étais plus que ravi de découvrir mon premier «château» et mon «vinyard» en un seul endroit.

C'est l'un des endroits que j'ai hâte de visiter à nouveau en 2021!

It’s crazy how life goes full circle. I never imagined living out my dream in the South of France. Let me explain

All my life I imagined living in France and learning another language. I remember watching TV and thinking okay I want to be like the French women. Oozing class and sophistication.

But with all that dream takes planning. As dreamy as it seems to up and leave the states for France it takes careful planning and budgeting.

It can be stressful as all hell to leave everything you knew beyond for a dream that may not work out in « real life »

So..I’ve decided to create a plan that helps Expats both plan and budget for their dreams.

Have you ever met an angel on earth?

Mamie Odette & I first met back in 2016. When Mr. French () took me to France for the first time. Let me tell y’all. I was sooooo nervous.

Yannick had told me that she never met a black person before and never traveled outside of little ol’ Mudaison.

Let me tell you. This women was an absolute queen. Back then I couldn’t communicate in French at all. Like at all. I just smiled and laughed 😅. Mamie loved it. She laughed with me and made me feel welcome.

This photo was taken the second time I was in France. This time we could have little chit chats and she had a photo of me up in the house.

When I think of an angel I think of grace. Mamie was the embodiment of grace, light, and selfless. I can’t believe 2020 has taken yet another soul but I know she’s with the angels in Haven.

My relationship with Halloween is one of a curious nature. I grew up in a small Christian town in Pennsylvania with six sisters. Needless to say, my parents always had their eyes on us. They never wanted us playing Pokemon cards or reading Harry Potter in fear of us dabbling in “Witch Craft.” ⠀

We went to church every Sunday, sometimes Wednesdays, for bible study. This little bird was shocked when my parents agreed to let us celebrate Halloween....⠀

There’s a calming relaxation that surrounds Saint Martin. When I went there I had just been laid off from my job. I thought how on this green earth am I going to afford to stay in NYC? How am I going to afford anything? I thought I needed to cancel my trip immediately? 😭⠀

Luckily my partner in crime convinced me that everything would be okay. I would find a new job. A better job and not to worry. ⠀
⠀
I am so happy I listened because Saint Martin helped me to realize something about myself⠀
