On May 15th, 2021, a stone tower known as the ‘harmony stone’ was built on the Big Island of Hawaii. This ceremony marked the raising of a flag symbolizing the creation of a new world with earth family.
Four days after the ceremony, she was told by a Hawaiian Shaman to go to the next location. On the summer solstice 2021, she arrived and continues to fulfill her mission in Japan.

Dr. Sumie Nakaya is a peacekeeper and political scientist.
She joined the United Nations after completing Ph.D. at the City University of New York. She has since overseen the work of the AU-UN Hybrid Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), in addition to crisis management and strategic mission planning, in the Department of Peace Operations (DPO).
She started her career with a Japanese nongovernmental relief organization for refugees and worked for a UN agency supporting women and think tanks in New York as well.
She has published on conflict resolution in edited volumes (UN University Press, University of Alberta Press, Routledge) and academic journals (Central Asian Survey, Global Governance), and taught in Queens College, NY.
Starting in March 2022, she will be on special leave from the UN and start teaching at Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo.
