GUIDELINE #5: LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE VERIFIED CHECKMARKS

Studying this guideline will also need careful examination of a verified user or company. Nowadays in social media, high-profile people or brands have a badge symbolizing their verified user profiles and were from actual high-profile people.

Now to how to determine a verified badge on a social media page:
- A blue checkmark or verified badge is marked on high-profile pages of people, media companies and brands. Keep in mind that there are some people or brands do not have that kind of checkmark.
- A gray checkmark verifies actual pages of well-known businesses or organizations in order to determine their actuality with this badge.

If any "high-profile page" of a person, brand or organization does not have a badge while imitating its name, it may have a tendency to be a scam or fake.

GUIDELINE #4: LOOK AT HOW THE STORY'S BEING TOLD

Also, need to take a look at how one message is being communicated whether it's an objective or being designed to spark an emotional response. Careful examination of a news content takes time to create a conclusion based on what an article portrays, whether it was credible or fake.

GUIDELINE #3: SEPARATE FACT FROM OPINION

Nowadays, many sources weave and spread news, opinions and advertisements into a single article, and you have to look very hard to determine them apart whether any of the content is classified as a fact or an opinion.

GUIDELINE #2: CHECK THE SOURCES

Throughout time and history, internet media content (whether good or bad), they're spreading fast and are more progressive throughout the years.

Ensure yourself on how you'll know who and where your information comes from, and also determine whether your source has credibility. Cross-search names and web addresses or links.

You must have high awareness, skills, and understanding that high-profile people are frequently being impersonated online.

It is also vital to check the dates. (Often at times, what has been true in the past, might not be true today.)

GUIDELINE #1: WATCH OUT FOR FALSE CONTENT

Firstly for this guideline, it is important to learn how to recognize common types of false and misleading internet content, whether it'll be a news article or its supporting image.

Sometimes, there were online content that seemed to look like a news story, instead, this may actually be something mismatching (e.g. an ad or a parody website) or a deliberate manipulated attempt to mislead any reader to believe a deception.

So it is best to learn to differentiate fake news from any news content with a credible, legitimate source.
