‘The Flash’ Casts Sugar Lyn Beard as Hazard (EXCLUSIVE)
Sugar Lyn Beard has been cast as Rebecca Sharpe, aka Hazard, for the fourth season of “The Flash.”
The “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” star will appear in the third episode of The CW series’ upcoming season. Sharpe is described as perpetually down-on her luck and is convinced her life is cursed — until a freak accident changes everything. With the universe on her side, she poses a threat to both Team Flash and Central City.
Hazard first appeared in “Infinity, Inc. #34” back in 1987.

“The Flash” has been filling out its roster for Season 4 with Hartley Sawyer being cast in a recurring role as The Elongated Man; Neil Sandilands as the season’s big bad, The Thinker; Kim Engelbrecht as The Mechanic — an engineer and The Thinker’s right hand — and Danny Trejo as the Earth-19 bounty hunter Breacher.
During the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, executive producer Todd Helbing teased the show’s lighter tone for the upcoming season.
“We’re also trying to lighten the tone this year,” he said. “Last year was pretty dark, we’re going to try to get back to the jokes.”
“The Flash” returns to The CW for Season 4 on Oct. 10.

The Flash Season 4 Synopsis Seems To Give Away A Huge Spoiler

As The CW announced its fall lineup and some surprising shakeups, something else regarding The Flash Season 4 caught our eye. Take a look at the synopsis and see if you can spot what seems to be a huge spoiler for next season:
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department. Barry's life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive --- The Flash. But when Barry used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother's life, he inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint; a phenomenon that gave birth to the villainous speed god known as Savitar, and changed the lives of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Wally West (Keiyan Lonsdale) forever. With the help of his adoptive father, Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), his lifelong best friend and love interest Iris West (Candice Patton), and his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs -- Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), C.S.I Julian Albert (Tom Felton), and an Earth-19 novelist named H.R. Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) -- Barry continues to protect the people of Central City from the meta-humans that threaten it.
If you thought that Iris West's implied survival is the kicker, then you get all the prize money. Now, we're well aware that this could just be The CW not wishing to give away too much regarding Season 4 of The Flash with the Season 3 finale coming up next week, but all the other synopses for the network's shows all point towards the future in direct ways. Take that, and the change of tense from the beginning to the end of Flash's synopsis, and you got a "think stew" going on in your brain. Barry "continues" would seem to iindicate that this is foreshadowing for beyond the reign of Savitar. So, are we to assume that Iris is ok for Season 4? If so, that seems like it would be a pretty huge spoiler to just put out there all w***y nilly.
There are more things than just that they may raise some eyebrows for The Flash Season 4. For example, there's been no word as to whether or not Tom Felton will remain on the series as Julian Albert outside of Season 3., but he's listed here. If you're someone subscribing to the popular Iris switcharoo theory, it wouldn't make much sense for HR to also be listed for Season 4 as well. That's not to say Tom Cavanaugh wouldn't somehow weasel his way back into a role, but specifically mentioning HR seems to indicate the Earth-19 novelist is the guy next season. Let's not forget we already know a funeral is coming, so some part of this math likely isn't right, and someone here needs to bite the dust!
Of course, we've already got our presumed death with Iris, so maybe we should all just stop subscribing so hard to the trope that no one ever dies in the Arrow-verse. Maybe Iris West will go down with the likes of Tommy Merlyn and Moira Queen as one of the few to never see resurrection or multiverse reashings. I won't believe it personally until Iris is six feet under, but then after remembering what Arrow did with Sara Lance, maybe I should hold out for cremation. With how these shows have gone for years, I'm sure even that wouldn't keep an Iris comeback from happening!
Hopefully, we'll get more answers than questions when The Flash airs its finale on Tuesday, May 23rd, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Once that's over, head to our summer premiere guide and find something new to pick up before The Flash returns for Season 4 in the fall. Also, we've added quite a few more shows to our renewal guide lately so it couldn't hurt to glance at that if you haven't in awhile.
