My favorite trick to keep cut fruit from browning is to brush orange juice on them. I made red, white, and blue fruit kabobs for the 4th of July with strawberries, blueberries, & slices of banana. What is something you love to do that you haven’t given yourself permission to do in a long time? For almost 10 years, I didn’t make any crafts. I’ve loved crafts since I was a child, but I’d gotten so busy with life & responsibilities I hadn’t stopped to do this thing that I loved. I was too busy doing all the things I thought I had to do, I hadn’t asked myself what I wanted to do. Slowly I got back into making things. It brought joy & life. I felt more like myself, like this part of me I had forgotten was coming alive again. Eventually I started even sharing my crafts here with you guys hoping to inspire you to create too. Maybe what you love to create isn’t crafts, maybe it’s writing, painting, drawing, or something else, but I want to encourage you to take time to create. The acid in the salsa pairs so well with the creaminess of the cream cheese. I made an American flag out of softened cream cheese, salsa, and blue corn chips. I picked up this flag platter last year in the Target Dollar Spot, but I think a baking pan or Pyrex dish would work too. Quick Star Wars Day Treat : Here’s an easy recipe for May the 4th— Chocolate Covered Pretzel Lightsabers. I found both the pretzel rods & melting chocolate at Walmart. Melting the chocolate is so simple.
