About 13,000 hectares has been burnt since the fire broke out.
As I walked through the chared remains I came across plenty of wildlife scavanging what scraps were left and they were still very skittish from the torment of the fire.
The local iconic Yanchep petrol station and one home were seriously damaged the day the fire started, but since then no other homes were impacted by the flames.
