God isn't just watching us, but also rooting for us. He wants us to succeed, and wants you to succeed. A good loving Father wants his children to manifest the best version of themselves, and so it is that we can make our Father in heaven proud by being the best versions of ourselves. Today, do something that would make God proud of you. An act of kindness, a moment of humility, a gesture of love and empathy. God Bless you all.

My goodness…. The things that we do in our youth. How often did we get in trouble? For you; Maybe not at all, maybe a lot. Most of us fall somewhere in between that spectrum. I always tried to do the right thing in life, but there was a period where I was a little […]

Psalm 69:30 - I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

When we create art; be it in writing, singing, painting, or any creative endeavor that requires heart and soul… We must do it in the name of God. To magnify him above all. WHAT TO DO: Do you paint, do you write, do you sing, or maybe you sew? Do you do anything creative? As […]

The wisdom we find in the Bible is absolutely inspiring. How should we; as Christians, operate in the world? If someone is merciful, show them mercy. If someone is honorable, show them honor. If someone is truthful, be truthful with them. It is a way of saying: interact with positive people in a pos...

Breaking through to those that do not believe in Christ can be a daunting task. Christianity is so much more than reading the story of Christ. It is a fully formed philosophy with a built in psychology. It not only teaches us how and why we should behave morally, it gives our mind solace from […]

Psalm 2:1- Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

Let's read together and analyze, please feel free to comment and give your own interpretations.

This Psalm goes into the idea that a section of mankind (the heathens) can overthrow the LORD from His seat of power above humanity. We can dive deeper and understand that there are people of God that are knowing or unknowing followers. What does that mean? If you are Christian and you practice pray...

The fruits of labors are the rewards for our hard work. God teaches us that these fruits are not a guarantee and can be taken away. A farmer can toil long and hard only to have his crop ruined by pests. The idea of locusts is the idea of destruction and primarily of something extremely […]

It’s the kind of thing most believers understand upon first read. We know faith gets tested, and keeping it can be difficult. One of the things that non-believers get wrong about us is when they say having faith is “easy”. It isn’t easy, it requires strength. To seek God with your whole hear...

Come see our latest study of Psalm 141:4 !

It is tempting for us to compromise our morals for earthly pleasures, and the devil knows it is one of our weaknesses. What is most confusing is there are situations where you can be doing the right thing and gain wealth from it, but still feel guilt from your success. What then is there for […]

Psalm 22:24 - For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesus cared for the lowest people, the poorest people, those that were afflicted with sickness. He did not turn away from them but instead went to them and comforted them, and healed.
Matthew 9:35– And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
If you are afflicted, do not feel like God despises or hides from you, He hears you, He loves you, and will always be there for you. When the time comes He will welcome you into heaven with open arms.
This psalm harkens back to a previous theme illustrated in Psalm 3:4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. And it seeks to reinforce this idea that when we cry out to the Lord in a time where we feel desperate He will always […]
How often does the man who has everything in the world talk to God? How often does the man who has nothing? God places us in precarious situations often as a test of faith, and sometimes as a pure twist of fate. If you’ve been with Waking Grace for a while, you will see our […]
Psalm 38:7 - For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
The Loins are a part of our body; specifically the muscles close to the kidneys. This psalm talks about possibly kidney disease. The difficulty of early man without modern medicine and pain killers must’ve been incredibly brutal. We forget how wonderful it is to live with the comforts of the moder...
Psalm 13:6 - I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
Have you ever wondered why the ones whom God treats wonderfully sing his praises? Probably not, because the reason is obvious. I wonder far more about those whom fall into tremendous suffering, and still sing unto the Lord. People that have all the motivation necessary to curse and hate God, that in...
The artist however; sees vibrant color and imaginative works within his mind before laying a single brush stroke. The faithless look at the world in the same way as the unartistic. Psalm 21:2 - Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
Sometimes God does act in accordance with our desires and dreams. Some people also falsely assume luck for God, and others God for luck. But what we do with Luck can either lead to God, or away from God towards Hell… For instance; Let us analyze a story: A small business owner is getting crushed [...
Psalm 10:4 - The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
Pride is a sneaky sin. Being proud of yourself for good deeds done is not a sin, is it? Depends really: being proud of yourself; without acknowledging all things are made possible through the LORD, is a sin. If you give money to a beggar on the street, why do you do it? Is it […]
Psalm 85:13 - Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.
When we read about Jesus, or Job, or Noah, or David, or any other righteous person from the Bible; it serves us so greatly as a blueprint for us to follow. Each story lends incredible wisdom and insight for us to not only enjoy, but to learn from. Jesus taught us how to forgive, Noah […]
Psalm 38:4 - For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
We all have sinned. Some more than others. And this is not a judgment on those that have had great sin(s). How we deal with that sin is what matters. If we don’t address our sin they can become like a flood of waters and drown us. To sin is a part of being human. […]
Psalm 13:2 - How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
The ocean moves in cycles. The weather moves in cycles. Music, emotions, and economics all move in cycles. When the Earth spins around and the sun disappears, do you fear it won’t return? When waves move in towards the shore, don’t they always recede? How long shall you have sorrow in your heart...
