It’s safe to say, Covid-19 cases are down in many places. The phrase, “seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,” might be applicable at this time. Now, our hopes, prayers, and wishes should be for more resolutions of conflicts in the world.

Last year I wrote this song, and now an invasion is being realized in Ukraine. Although we feel the urge and responsibility to bring attention to occurrences that are possible, we wish they would never come to fruition. Most people think about military war only. The following types of wars are not thought of as much: cyber, civil, space, class, climate, economic, religious, trade, nuclear, political, and biological - to name a few.

Re: The “Promise to Be Better” post. One response to the post sums it up nicely. It reads, “We all need a second chance in life…” To that I say amen. But, what would we do after getting a second chance to correct our mistakes and reach our goals? One answer to this question might be, “Let us now strive for perfection.”

Good morning, afternoon, or night!

The word "War" conjures up the image of bombs raining down from the sky. We see, with our minds' eyes, rockets cutting through the air or clouds to strike enemy targets. In addition, the thought of an armed conflict against an adversary helps us envision military men and women who are clad in green camouflages ducking behind dirt mounds and rocks.

Also, we can imagine stained-faced fighters spying over the edges of ditches and trenches while aiming their machine guns in the direction of their enemies. The saddest reality of war, however, is the potential loss of lives, including civilians.

The above images are front and center in our heads at the mention of "War," but the following kinds of conflicts against people and society are not often thought of. These war-types are cyber, civil, space, class, climate, economic, religious, trade, nuclear, political, and biological - to name a few.

I believe many of us would agree these non-military battles can be as dangerous and harmful as soldiers fighting on a battleground. The effects of these social struggles can be felt without a bomb dropped, gun fired, or a rocket launched.

I hope we'll start thinking more about the consequences of the wars mentioned above.

Some of the activities we engage in we must do to achieve natural sustenance. For example, we expect to go to sleep at night and wake up the next morning. Our bodies need rest after several hours of work. This relaxation period becomes necessary for the replenishment of energies and to maintain longevity.

On the contrary, we do some things out of force of habit. For instance, we choose whether to go to the gym or not. Also, we decide which job offer to accept and which to turn down. We are in control of the decisions we make. Some of these voluntary behaviors are not without consequences if we do them too much, too little, not at all, or too late.

Let's look at this last behavior (making decisions late). When we hesitate to decide a could-have, would-have, and should-have war starts to wage in our minds. A victim of this kind of war suffers from what I call coulda-woulda-shoulda disease. You can hear more about this internal conflict in a song scheduled for release soon. So, please come back for a post on this page with a link to the song. In the meantime, "Don't Be a Coulda Woulda Shoulda" - the title of the song.

We should be feeling thankful for starting to get back to doing some of the things we love to do despite the pandemic that we are experiencing. However, the recent snowstorm might curtail outdoor activities for some of us. We should still be thankful, though, just for being in the land of the living.

Music can comfort, relax, and heal a 💔 broken heart. The stories told in many songs can help lead people back to normal lives. The messages convey through many songs make listeners see hope where they thought there was none. Some people sing songs when they are asking for forgiveness, a second chance, or when they are expressing their loves for others. PROMISE TO BE BETTER is the title of a song that 🗣 echoes the request for a second chance. The theme of this Pop/R&B song suggests that if a second chance is given, the mistakes made in the past will be no more – never repeated. A line from the song said it this way, “I promise to be better this time around.” Click the link below to listen to the song on your favorite online 💻 music platform.
