Does anyone else feel a major shift when fall rolls around? My tendency is to go inside myself and begin the hibernation process. I've learned over the years to manage that desire so it doesn't debilitate me for the next 5 months... learning to flow with fall has made the season much more enjoyable.

NEW ON THE BLOG: It's a question we hear a lot after giving up alcohol: How do I navigate hosting social events within my new AF life? Am I comfortable having alcohol in my house / serving it to my friends? Do I want to have only AF gatherings? Let people bring their own? There is no right answer here, just what feels right to you.

In our summer 2023 issue Writer Katie O'Kennedy of shares how she handles this situation and provides two of her favorite recipes for summery mocktails (that can make the switch when necessary) to boot.

We'd love to hear what you do in this situation!

Today we’re sharing the editor’s letter from our Spring issue of AFTER Magazine (On Loss, Love, and Standing in the Moment) in memory of fathers that are no longer with us and as a tribute to all the great dads out there who are proud of their kids, who are sober themselves or who support someone who is like my dad did for me.

It’s pride month! One of the founding principles of AFTER Magazine is that we accept and support all people no matter where you are on your journey (with alcohol and otherwise) regardless of race, religion, gender, sexuality, age or ethnicity. We continue to learn about groups who are statistically more heavily impacted by alcohol use disorder such as the LBGTQ+ community. A portion of proceeds from our PRIDE collection and all subscriptions in the month of June will go to support the Trevor project. 🧡
