"A contagious, vicious menace. Among the creatures of the Dissonance, the zarelle stands out as a beautiful yet dangerous anomaly. While there appears to be a separate species within the genus, it's actually the same creature. Their mannerisms and sometimes even their physical appearance change so drastically as they mature that they are mistaken for a different species altogether."

📜 Scaradites are omnivorous opportunists, scavenging the open land for any available food. They consume their fill and share the surplus with the colony. During lean seasons, they resort to cannibalism, but their light appetites allow a single sacrifice to sustain the colony for extended periods.

Depending on their station, some may even don fine woven fabrics with meticulously crafted metallic hemwork. The creatures identify themselves through their clothing, dyeing it to suit their tastes or roles within the flock."

These glands are filled with highly buoyant gases, enabling the creature to ascend above the liquid realm it inhabits. Although the squid's levitation is of limited height and duration, when precisely timed, it can yield evasive maneuvers or provide a burst of speed to overwhelm its adversaries.

📜 Combinations of color, hair pattern and length as well as skills can vary greatly from individual to individual depending on needed camouflage and survivability. The males patrol the wastes and wonders of The Dissonance, watching for threats and looking for food-- sometimes one provides the other. Their crowns, though mostly organic, seem to have an underlying crystalline structure that stores different kinds of energies; this energy can be somehow metabolized in times of low caloric intake or expelled in a powerful burst.
