This episode is a Patreon exclusive. I invited my friend Tz from Tapes from the Darkside to discuss a brutally horrific murder that you probably haven't heard of. It's an unscripted, more casual format, but the crime is...well, just listen. It's truly Worse Than Fiction.

Worse Than Fiction, Episode 14: Satan in the Flesh, is now available wherever you get podcasts.

A serial killer terrorizes several people and their families. A good deal of it could have been prevented.

273,843 Males are currently listed as missing in the US.

268,744 Females are currently missing in the US.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/240387/number-of-missing-persons-files-in-the-us-by-age/

These stats are purely based on biological s*x, so I don't want to hear anything about Trans, non-binary, etc. They are included in these statistics, which are either/or, for simplicities sake.

It's great that Gabby Petito got so much attention and was found so quickly, regardless of the outcome.

Here's my problem. Why does no one seem to give a s**t about the missing/murdered males? Do we not matter as much?

There is also the fact that 77.3% of murder victims in the US are males. Why do we give them less attention than others? What the f**k is up with this missing/murdered white girl syndrome that the media has?

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2018/crime-in-the-u.s.-2018/topic-pages/expanded-homicide?fbclid=IwAR2WHVspGK_ZRJ36_TiWBkFlZixzfQdALe0DEAsMEjlUrqdRBYQ0tr25wng

If you go look at your list of favorite true crime podcasts, there appears to be a theme. They mostly cover stories of missing/murdered white females. Why don't they give more attention to the "others"?

I posted this in the private group, but I also want to post this here:

"Firstly, does anyone have any good true crime/ horror novel recommendations available on Audible? I have a credit to spend, and no idea what to spend it on.

Secondly, I think I'm getting back to a place in life where I can sanely dig back into writing. Myself and the fam just got home from a much-needed vacation this week, and I'm feeling good.
I'm going to set a date now for the next episode, and if I don't meet it, I give you all full permission to hunt me down and force me to finish it.

The Predator will be released by the 30th of this month. Not that I recommend that anyone listen to it though....it's a f**king gnarly story almost on the level of Andrei Chikatilo, or at least it WOULD have been on that level eventually, had this pile of s**t not gotten caught as early as he did.

The 30th. That will be the day, and my lovely wife Miranda will hold me to it!"

I'm not dead yet! ....I will be one day, but this isn't that day! I have posted about where I've been on both Twitter, and in the Facebook group, so if you want to interact directly with me, or get any news I might have, those are the best places to find it.

This is a short true crime story I wrote a while back that I was personally involved in. The Murder of Paul Brown in Hamiltion Ohio. I've pulled it from Patreon exclusivity, and I give to you all. It's...intimate, and very real, especially to me since it was so close to home. Just listen to it, this story probably has more soul than anything I've ever released.

On the morning of December 22, 2016 Taylor Anne McAllister, 22, was found brutally murdered in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Taylor was found around 8 A. M. in an alley on 63rd Ave. S. by a man collecting cans. She’d been brutally beaten, bruised, and was n**e from the waist down. Her body was covered in bug bites and tire tracks. Her neck, face, and chest had severe hemorrhaging. According to the medical examiner, her eyes had the worst petechia that he’d ever seen. The inside of her mouth was filled with cuts, bruises, and abrasions. Her cause of death was listed as homicide by asphyxiation.
DNA under her fingernails and on her neck matched Robert “Bertie” Butler, son of the founder of Bob’s Carpet Mart. She was removed from his residence after Butler called four individuals to pick her up. They drove her lifeless body over 25 miles away and dumped her in the alley. Butler’s DNA was the only one found on Taylor’s body.
Despite DNA and testimony from participants, no one has been charged with her murder.
We’re begging anyone with any information, no matter how small you think it may be, please contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780. Please help bring justice for this precious girl’s parents and surviving twins.

"The Pentagon estimates that 80 to 90 percent of s*xual assaults go unreported, and admits that only 8 percent of cases that are investigated end in prosecution (compared with 40 percent for civilians arrested for s*x crimes). To add insult to injury, 80 percent of those convicted are still honorably discharged."
