As Lebanon suffers escalated bombardment in recent days and the Palestinian genocide nears its one year anniversary after decades of occupation, GenZine will be hosting a crafternoon to flood the post with our opposition to West-funded and sanctioned death and destruction in the Middle East.

✏️ WHAT: We’ll provide materials to craft postcards and zines to send to our political representatives, opposing genocide, calling for liberation and a suspension of arms to Israel.
⏰ WHEN: This Saturday 5 October, 3:00-5:00PM
📍WHERE: Phoenix Youth Centre, 72 Buckley St Footscray
💸 COST: A gold coin donation to cover stamp costs would be appreciated.

On Monday 7 October, we’ll join thousands of others sending our crafted mail and flooding politicians’ post with messages of support for Palestine and Lebanon.

Join us in channeling your grief and anger creatively and communally this Saturday. 🤍🇵🇸🇱🇧

Launching ~roots~ was as warm and earthy as we’d hoped 🥲❤️‍🔥 Thank you especially to our gifted poets, and to the wondrous and for their magical sets! 👩‍🦽‍➡️ A few notes about accessibility of our launch tonight:

🌸 Phoenix Youth Centre is a wheelchair-accessible venue, with cut curbs and no stairs to get into the building. The floor is a combination of lino and carpet.

🌸 There two parking spots reserved for folks with disabilities, and otherwise 15 spots available right beside the venue.

🌸 Multiple unisex and ambulant toilets inside the venue

🌸 We will have masks available for those who wish to use them

🌸 There will be a quiet room separate to the main launch space for anyone needing a break from the excitement, stocked with cushions, fidgets, and low lighting.

Whilst it is a night of noise-making and celebration, we have made every effort to create a relaxed and comfortable space, and are also very open to making adjustments for folks finding the launch overstimulating. Please feel free to chat to Hannah, Emily, Charlotte, Sarah or Bani if you have any concerns 🤍

✨What a special evening we had last week as part of the GenZine Yoga and Embodied Social Justice experience ✨ Thanks for co-creating and co-regulating with us 🥰. We enjoyed the journalling, sharing and discussion as well as moving into yummy yin yoga shapes with you all.
The 4th and final session is exploring and honouring our inner autumn 🍂.

Join us for an experience combining health, social justice and community together with the power of yin yoga. ✨🧘‍♀️

This is open to all genders, bodies and abilities. No previous yoga experience is necessary. This event is about exploring being in the body, conscious movement and collective rest, so wear comfy clothes so we can relax to the max together!

Every 2nd Saturday of the month 10am-12pm

GenZine won awards! 🥳 😆 We feel so grateful to be part of the 2023 Western Rainbow Awards! 🌈 We were winners of the Advocacy Award and finalists in the Youth Focussed and LGBTQIA+ Project Awards! Weeeeeeeee!!!! Great to end the year on a high note and so excited for the shenanigans we are planning for 2024! Tehe 😄
