Wow. Classic Lake effect snow on Sunday off of Lake Michigan.

Here's a Lake Michigan satellite pic. from Sunday. It was clear in Wisconsin. A few of the deeper lakes still had open water (Green Lake, Geneva Lake) and stood out against the backdrop of snow on the ground. With a west wind, cloud cover formed rapidly as the Arctic air moved over the relatively warm (38.6 deg.) water.

We had solid overcast in West Michigan...no...wait...Grand Rapids reported one minute of sunshine...that's right one minute! Over the past month, Grand Rapids has had just 4% of possible sunshine! If clouds were money, we'd have won the Lotto!
